I am ready to order my patch panels for my 52 ford F1, I am needing patch panels for the front fenders. Who makes the best panels that actually fit for these fenders. Any help is appreciated.
Which patches are you getting? Bottom of fender at the running boards, or the "usual" area at about 10:00 where the upper fender joins the lower in the wheel well? In either case, I've never heard of anyone who was really satisfied with what they got for $100 a pop. If you can't fab them yourself, pay someone to do it, you'll not likely regret it (depending what it costs). None of the patches I've seen for the inner-to-lower area has a reinforcement at all like the stockers. PS as far as I know, only one outfit really manufactures the patches, they're all selling the same ****. (chinese/taiwanese)
Hey, As the gent above pointed out, you may be much better off building your own. There isn't much shape in these panels, and by the time you weld in the repops you'll have to do some hammer and dolly work anyway! Ya may as well jus' do the job yourself and get what you want. The pieces I've seen for these are like the F100 patch panels.....a great treat for the myopic! S****ey Devils C.C. "It's time for another Tea Party!"
Hey Ross, Wasn't Reamer over on the FTE site making those lower patches for F-2 and up??? I cant remember. I just traded a bunch of F-2 &up parts (a front clip) for some patch work to be done on my F-1 front fenders, the upper area and the lower sections were rusted through. I'm excited to have them done since It will be one less major undertaking for myself! J
