The tire/wheel combo on my El Camino just clears the frame on the inside.Be nice to have just another 1/4 inch of clearance, room enough in the wheel wheel to move the tire out 1/4 inch.
Any of you have experience with the thin die cast wheel spacers? I'm a little leary that these thin pieces of aluminum might crack or cause the wheel to loosen, thanks.

I've used them in several cars and never had a problem, even used them stacked when I had to...am now waiting for all the guys who have had bad experiences to post....

Nary a scary....just make sure that you're all snugged up, follow star pattern and torquing specs and make sure you have sufficient threads for the lugnuts to bit on. At the very least it should be flush.

I went 8.50s @ 150+ on cheap wheel spacers like that. But don't tell anybody, they'll tell you it's never going to be safe. ;)

  8. just make sure you have enough wheel stud threads engaged into the lug nuts and you should be fine

  9. We use them on the dirt track cars we run that have 9'' rearends and 15x7 wheels. They're used for stagger. They see far more action then you'll ever see on the street and we never have had a problem with them breaking, warping, cracking, etc... just make sure the lugnuts are tight like all the other fellas are saying.-Weeks

  11. I've used quarter and half inch thick spacers before without problems, I did check the lug nuts fairly often with the half inch to be sure they were tight.

Try to avoid stacking spacers to achieve clearance and be extra careful using anything over 1/2 inch. Also the cast spacers will crack more readily than the solid machined ones.

Used them on a daily driver for quite a while with no problems.
