I like it!! Not crazy about the wheels or headers though. What is that body? Looks kinda like a 27 cowl and a 1915 back panel.

    Neat lookin' heap.

  7. If you built it yourself it's not your first go around. The wheels don't do the car justice and you can't make a 4 wheel drive look low just by hanging side pipes from long hangers. Other than that, Pretty Kool.
Now understand that's just my opinyon, NOT A KNOCK.

I agree with oldtin, not a fan of the wheels or sidepipes. But that's just me. Still cool....

  9. I dig it! Something you don't see everyday.. good use for a '81 Camero, I'll say! I actually really like the stretched front end... gives it almost one of those Euro racer looks!

How old are you guys who knock the wheels and pipes? Those components came out in the early seventies when rodding still had soul.

Randman, The guys who don't care for the wheels and sidepipes are ancient (I'm one) The combination reminds us of the camaros and mustangs that roamed the street in the 70's and 80's, too new for this board.
Anyway, with that said, we need some more information on the car. If you built it your self, BRAVO, if you didn't at least you've got something that's not a cookie cutter car and looks like if would be a blast to drive around in. Any car that LOOKS old, even though it might be a reproduction, is a step in the direction of keeping the flame alive IMO.

  14. F.Y.I. I am a Gray beard, 60 something going on 30. I like the Ponokeio nose. I like the streched hood. I even could even accept the exhaust if it folowed the chassis line. But those wheels? Not for me. I can still admire the car. It's good to see a new rod "NOT" dragging it's guts out on the asphault.
    Just my opinyon.

I agree that the wheels are not the best choice for this car. I wouldn't use them on my current projects, but I did want a set in '78. I was out there tearing up the streets in the'70's and '80's, keeping the flame alive when most of the older guys had gave up and started counting gas mileage.

Well let see where to start. This ride started off as a 23 T-bucket that was built sometime in the late 70`s early 80`s.I picked it up and being over 6 foot I had to cut it up so I could fit in it.The cowl is 10 inch longer and homemade as well liking the 15 T body`s I rased up the rear 3 inch.Add a set of door as well as a steel hood and fenders.front frnder are motorcycle and the rear are trailer.Don`t like fender but up here it is a must law!!Car has a 30 over 454 with T350 trans.Out back it is a late 70`s Tran AM rearend with 342 gears. As for the wheels. Well I heard that many times. Most around here want me to put a set of welds or something that adds more bling to the car.Not going to happen.Beside them wheels were what you could say freebe`s.As for the headers Well I too don`t like them.Thinking of changing them out for a hand built set of lake pipes.Problem is where to hide the mufflers.wheels base is 115 inch. The car comes with a 4 point bolt in roll cage that don`t look right in it but is for the trip down the drag strip.Car runs high 11`s as is.Yes it sits high in the backbut It is too much work to change the hight .I Already looked into that,so Plan on leaving the car as is and build something old school and low.Besides with wheels with the jacked up in the back look gives it a early 70`s looks....Ya that`s it.I`m going for that early 70`s look!!What ever..I`ll post some more pics of the build up.

I picked it up 3 years ago and spent a weekend to get it road worthy.Car was way to small for me so a cut here and a chop there.I use it for the summer then took it off the road and chopped it up.
Front wheels where removed to make way for front brakes.Sold them on egay.Kick myself now for doing it.But I got a good dollor for them.

This is what I cut out and what I added to the car.Lots of leg room now.

3 inch rase on the rear of the body.

Hand built steel hood.At this point I had enough with the fiberglass bullshit.Steel is real.

Out for a cruz.Tring my best to keep my foot out of it!!

Last one. This is how the rear looks. As well how the fool looks who owns it!!

  20. The whole deal looks fine to me. Might loose the wheels and sprinter headers if I could but I wouldn't be ashamed to be seen with ya.
I love the look of it all streached out.
I do gotta say one thing though. Maaan you're huge. I usually feel pretty small around most folks but you make me feel like a miget. [IMG]

    Looks just fine to me.

I got nothing bad to say...

But since nobody's really giving you the roasting you seem to think you deserve... Try this on for size...

You really changed the car for the better. The smile on your face in the last pic is all that matters anyhow! [IMG]

Hi fitzee - all it needs is a set of wheels. Hope you don't mind the suggestion:-

I love it!!I was thinking of going that root but finding a set of wheels like that to bolt up to a Chevy bolt pattern is hard and if there out there thay would cost me a arm and a leg to buy.
You guys are going to shame me into buying a set of wheels.Oh my ..... where`s that Visa card!!
