Can someone please hold my hand and help me make this my new avatar? This computer **** makes me angry!

 

I resized the image. Download the attached file by right clicking (Command-click on a mac), selecting "Save Image As" or "Save Picture As", and selecting a place to store the image.

In the lower darker top menu, click "Manage Your Account". On the left side, under the dark gray bar ***led "Settings & Options", click "Edit Avatar". The direct link this page is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/profile.php?do=editavatar

On the new page find "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer", click the "Browse" ****on, find the file that you downloaded from this post, select it, and click the "Open" ****on. Finally click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Kev, you don't have to resize your image if you want to use it as an avatar.
Just use the Photobucket thumbnail.

The Photobucket-image has this url:

It's smaller thumbnail you see on the index-page has this url:

Note the "th_" just in front of the image name.

Copy/Pasting the latter URL into your avatar-field usually works perfectly.

 

hello all,
I like the photobucket idea----but does that mean it is stored on an outside server somewhere? I get nervous about doing it that way for some reason.

I would like to know how to make cool avatars and not just re-size an image---but no time to play just now.
