Hi all, just got off the phone to my sister, she has set a wedding date of the 25th of april in alaska, so Im very keen to tie in a trip to the lonestar roundup, and meet a bunch of you folks, and exchange ideas on rods and building them.I would fly out of Austin to Seattle then Sitka after the roundup (whew!) My Dream trip would be to meet up with a convoy heading from LA or somewhere else in Cali, and hitch a lift.. I can of course pay my way, and you would have the added bonus of a qualified mechanic and hotrod builder with you on the road.Im 38, Run my own hotrod shop in Melbourne australia,pretty sociable, dont smoke, like a beer, and love road trips.. If anyone who is currently planning this kinda trip and would like to decrease their gas bill, and have some international company for the long hours across the deserts..let me know! details are pretty open to me in terms of leaving dates etc..

probably around the 7-9th april. Its short life rat, do it. Plan is a few days in LA then meet up with someone to drive there.. cmon Cali guys who is doing the pilgrimage? Im a nice guy..and can rebuild carbs on the side of the road!
Viva Las Vegas is the weekend before. I betcha you could easily hitch a ride there from LA, and then hopefully find a ride to Austin from Vegas. -scott noteboom

Come on guys we got to look after one of our own being international and all. Must be somebody heading east even if not all the way to the Round up who could help out.
Sounds like a good chance to meet like minded folk from down under. Damn shame. I suggest you repost this request on one of the Roundup threads that are running now. I'm thinking it has just slipped thru some how and the right locals have missed it. Good luck.
Hey Ben, Steph and I are going to Viva, we where gonna hire a car and drive from the west coast to Vegas and back to L.A after, so we could work something out. You could then find a ride to the round up from there, I have seen mention of guys doing that trip (on Viva post). I know that you probably dont want to go half way round the world to hang out with Aussie's, but hey, puttin it out there. Kyle

Well lowrider, if you do end up with a ride across this great country post us a report of how you saw it and you think not to mention your feed back on the Round Up.
