That's funny. I drove by your house the other day and saw the transporter and several other cars out front and said toi myself that I would have to stop by that guys house and meet him some day. :)

All very cool cars! I feel lucky to be working on some of these. Intro is good; however, it leaves out the intense focus on the consumption of hot wings.

What a great read, thanks for sharing this Geoff. A lot of cool engineering, I would love to read more about the drive train set ups, and what all had to be fabricated in these cars.

That was great fun to read and I have only started to look at all you have on your 'Fibergl***Sportscars' site. The 'LeMans Coupe' was always one of my favorites, probably because MacMinn did most of the design work and his book, 'Sports Cars of the Future' was a must read for those of us who were his transportation students at Art Center. His drawings show his skill and also the drawing technique, black 'VeriThin' pencil on vellum, which is what he taught in cl***. Thanks for all your efforts to make this great information available.

    Great blog intro Geoff!

Every aspect of the hobby should have someone like you working hard to keep the history alive!

You certainly have no shortage of cool, historic, cars to draw inspiration for future articles from!

Geoff's one of the most interesting visitors we've ever had at our shop. He's got some of the coolest cars I've ever seen! Glad to see him on here.

    Rolo...

    Thanks for the kind words.

I had a blast at your shop and you, Keith, and Vern Tardel were great help with getting the initial parts I needed to rebuild the front of my teardrop car ch***is. With the help of local HAMB guy and friend Tim Masters (MBL), we've got the front end "z'd" again and the axle in too. I'll post some progress pix soon, but here's pix (below) of the initial rebuild of the front ch***is rails - at the drop point.

Thanks again for the help from all 3 of you out there in northern California, and hope to see you on my next visit too.

    Geoff

P.S.....in the pictures below, you'll see the front crossmember that Vern picked out for the car. Be sure to tell him it's a perfect fit! We'll get rid of the more modern square tube up front soon. Thanks again...G

    Goeff;
Henry (Hank) McCormack was married to my aunt's sister's daughter, my aunt's parents lived next door. I had known Hank a good part of my life and thru our shop, Speed and Marine ***ociates, we hooked him up with the Granitelli's to build the body for the Indy turbine car. Steve

  29. Just got back from Geoff's place

So much cool stuff, We're used to being able to find stuff for cars that they made 100s of thousands of, Geoff tracks down stuff where they made 1 or 2. Amzing.

The Victresses, One Olds powered, one Pontiac, you can see the front on had the rear end altered a bit to look sportier.

Another one, I can't recall the name on this one, but it has many cool design details... Geoff, what was this one called?

You can see the top of the transporter in the background, and Bob K

Notice the way the body line under the headlights comes into the grills, the line spirals down into the cavity instead of just ringing it and ending...
