As reported this morning, Bonhams' will be selling it this weekend in France. I'm sure every TV news broadcast will have a quick piece on how many millions it brings. Craig Jackson, eat your heart out.
Why get mad at the new owners who inherited it for selling it. Think of the up keep..maybe they see better use of it by selling it and sharing the money with family? Id sell the ****ing thing too! Id rather have money than owning it..specially in these times.
I went back to the UK for the holidays and my step dad told me about this car about a week before the story broke. The guy who lives in the next house down the road from my folks restores and races cl***ic european pre and post war tin and he and a friend had been asked to go down to Newcastle to have a look at the car and give an appraisal. Of course the guy treats the family like their dumb and offers a couple a hundred grand for it and they get wise and call in the real experts......... There were also a couple of Astons and Jags and such. They weren't even deemed worthy of a mention next to the Bug! It's amazing to think that thing was lurking behind the doors of a garage in an area I frequented all the time as I was growing up......
Thanks, that is about were the exHarrah Type 57SC stalled a few months ago. The two tone green exWillianson Type 57SC sold at Pebble Beach for 7.2 two years ago. To think I used to haul that car around on an open trailer and think nothing about it at the time.
