This was taken in the 50's I'm sure. He is on far right. Maybe a 40 something Ford or Plym? I like the double radiator. Need to ask my uncle a dozen questions about this. My Dad is in heaven now.

Cool picture, I need to get after my uncle for some of his. He's rolled cars that people would cry over.

Thanks Shrum, Yea, Pop has rolled some and still ran the piss out of 'em. He said he didn't have many pics of them. He said "I ran them cars, I didn't have time for takin pics of them" I'm sure there are pictures of him at some of the tracks around central Pa back then.

Neat pic. Send me his name and the next time I'm at the museum I'll see if I can find any info on him. Do you know the name of any of the tracks he raced?

Hey Jr, That was before I was thought of. He stopped racin when my older sister was born. I see the guy Bobby in the picture at church every now and then. I'm gonna bend his ear on this, and frame a copy of this pic for him. I'll let you know. I will stop by on Sat on the way back from Shrewsbury. Goin to the Winter Beater Cruise at the Amish Mkts. and to get some early road time. Let me know if you are home later on Sat eve.

  7. I would bet that if Oklahoma had never had any race cars and the other states had gotten those cars, the market would be a little lower today.

That is a 37 or 38 Std Ford coupe. Note the wide-five drum up front at the lower left of the pic, just above it the mashed fender with headlamp opening, and further up the flattop hood unique to 37 and 38 Std.
The hood handle would identify it precisely but my mind is blank on those today.

Thanks ya'll. I thought I would p*** it around. I usually don't have much to post that is of any importance, but this was my Hero. Very Important to me. Yea, the hood ornament. Seems he needed something to wrap the cord around to keep the hood down Huh!

Neat pic. Love those old dirt cars. Bein' that it was your Dad's makes it extra special. Tell us "locals" about this Winter Cruise @ Shrewsbury if you are on the board this morning. That's only a 1 1/2 hrs. north from me. Never heard of it. Hope you take some pics there. Thanks, Don.:)
