So, we listed a 1929 Model A front end on egay. Of course, as with any purchase, people had questions on the item. Here's what the item description is:

1929 Model A Front Axle & Brakes, Complete, Restored

Complete, hub to hub front axle, radius rods and brakes from a restored 1929 Model A Tudor. The car was purchased in the 70's by an older gentleman, who then realized he couldn't drive a standard transmission. So the car sat idle in a heated garage until last fall. He decided to have us swap the running gear and drive train for updated units with an automatic and hydraulic brakes. All parts were carefully removed from the vehicle. The axle has WORKING REBUILT Model A mechanical brakes, all linkage is functional, and the brake parts are new, just 30 years ago. Bearings are fine and axle comes with tie rod and drag link. Good brake drums. Item is sold as is, and to the best of our knowledge in functional condition. ALL SALES FINAL, local pick up or buyer arranged shipping required. Immediate payment required. Item must be picked up within two weeks of winning auction. Please email with questions before bidding. Any Model A restorer will tell you the brake parts alone to rebuild the brakes are over $300.00.

And here's a question from the user "alloutratrods"

"are there brake hoses or no"

    :D

I told him "It's a Model A axle. Ford didn't have hydraulic brakes until 1939. This is a restored 1929 axle."

I really wanted to say, "Uh, your ebay handle says it all man." Or, "sure, I'll throw a set in. Send me photographs of what you put it in and when you have them hooked up."

But I just can't be that kind of dick.

Maybe next you can run an ad for a 1966 Corvair radiator, or a 1963 VW water pump. Maybe even lower control arms for a '26 Whippet. :D I bet he'd buy them up to use on a rat rod. Hahahahaha

Some flathead roller rockers would be nice, if we're making a wish list.

I hate bleeding mecanical brakes. It seems like I always get the mechanical brake fluid all over the floor. Does anyone know how to clean it up. I've tried floor dry, a wet and dry vac, etc. I guess the biggest problem I have with it is finding it after it spills out on the floor!!!!!!

Oooooooo! I was wondering how you guys were getting 700 HP out of a V8-60! I would never have thought of roller rockers!:D I bet you'd have to get taller valve covers for that if you went with a bigger cam, though. Maybe titanium ones.

  22. I don't get it...what's so funny? I bleed my Model A...oh no, wait...The model A is bleeding me of $$ . If you do not know how to clean up after a mechanical brake bleed, use a magnet! Seriously, that is why I have not sold a lot of stuff in recent years...it is the dumbing down of a bunch of morons that really hurts the hobby and I don't want to waste time trying to educate these mental midgets. But,on the positive, now that I am a recent HAMBer, I plan on selling much of my 30+ year stash of junk, but only on this site to knowledgable fellow rodders, like myself.

I thought they used fallopian tubes to carry the mechanical brake flooid there.
I had a guy turning flourescent light tubes 180 degrees so the electricity would go both ways and not develop a pattern. Lost a job at K-mart maintenance that way.
    funny though.

Guys like that are what makes E-BAY so great. I have sold things that I am sure they could never use and for way more that it was worth. That is how I get cash for my car stuff. Some of it, I am sure that I paid too much for also. Ha Ha .......maybe he was just kidding with you?

I'm not interested in the axle but I'll buy the car.
Its got to be a good one since it idled in the garage for that long.

hold up, this guy bought the car in the 70's when he was elderly, and now, 40 years later he must be really elderly like a hundred, and he just now decides to ruin an original restored Tudor by putting in modern gear and then sells the original parts rather than keep them to restore to original (and restore its value) when he's done with it or dead whichever comes first.

Forget the douchebag with the rat rod, that's the most amazing part of the story right there!
