Jesus Ian, I must admit that I'm following your example of the boot/trunk area by completely removing, stepnotching and replacing, but now they're gonna think that I'm building a clone or something when I give the 52 the same taillight treatment:D:D:D:eek:.
Honestly, I was already contemplating on how to go about it;) when I just stumbled across this thread, nice work, you make it look easy.

Unfortunately no, it's an original 4 door 52 I found on the net and had a play with when I got photochop, but it does give me inspiration. Cheers

Looks a little like my '51 taillights I did last March. I have had the car for 28 years (drove it in high school as a retro-rod). I too had trepidation about the over-used '59 Caddy treatment. But as you can see by your responses (much the same as I get everywhere I drive mine, which is daily) it looks spot on.

I am in Texas and use mine as a daily driver and have yet to be pulled over. I do have red LED lights under the clear. I have been wanting to change to red lenses though because with the light color of my car, the clear ones get lost and don't stand out. Of course now that you have done yours with the same treatment, I'll have to stick with clear now just to be different.

You can run clear as long as they do not have white/ clear reflectors in them. I do not believe any of the older tails had reflectors built in. That is the only concern with Johnny is any other color reflected or emitted to the rear other than red or amber.
