Strange as it seems, the same thing happened to me last week. I went to the Big-R store here for a specific model of a tool. They used to stock it. I can understand if something doesn't sell enough to keep it in stock, that they might quit stocking it. I asked if it could be ordered for me, I wasn't in a hurry. The guy fumbled with the computer, it was online, to the company that manufacturers the part. He couldn't find it. I went home, went online and brought up the website. There it was, on the HOMEPAGE of the website, in the SAME NAME AND MODEL that I asked for. I ordered it online. WE are Surrounded! By *****s! Damned Crying Shame, ain't it? .
I tried to buy a foot and a half fuel line at "Big" NAPA and the guy gave me the "We only sell it by the foot" I argued with him be he wouldn't sell me 18" I was pissed but "whatever" it's only a buck a foot so I end up with 6" extra. At this same store, every time I walk in, nobody's out front, they're all in back. Next guy walks in they pop out "Can I help you?" WTF AM I INVISIBLE?!! So next time I'm at my regular NAPA I asked the guy What's up with those guys in the "Big" NAPA. He says that one's a corporate store. OH I said is that why they're such ****s. HAha.
Coming from a 17 year old high school student, I think the problem now is that they've RAISED the education standards too much. To the point where a 6th grader is doing calculus. They don't teach kids logic, respect, hard-work, or creativity. Just do this and this and this and you can go to college and get this job and make enough money to never worry about anything. Alot of people don't want to do this, and they provide them with no alternative. They quit trying, quit school, and then are just pissed off and work some 6.55 an hour job until they die. I'm glad theres still a vocational school around here that might save some kids from this. The problem with this country is the damn standards are too high. I'd rather have a country of well-educated workers than genius' and dumb***es.
This really aggravates me! They hate it when you use cash that means they have to make change. They hand you a wad of bills, coins and the receipt and say "Have a nice day." or worst yet they don't say anything. I say sorry to bother you!
I diasgree with those that blame society. There are a lot of courteous people. But, when I'm given the idiot treatment, I reciprocate! Acting like an idiot is not by mistake, or not by cue to any mistake made by society. The Turds that do it know they are doing it. They are acting up. When I'm handed a wad of cash and a receipt and the cashier says "next", I don't move on until I've counted my change and put it away. Sometimes the cashier actually crosses his/her arms whilst I'm doing it, I guess to prompt me to move on, as if I'm holding up traffic.
I'm on the counter side of this thing. After the 39th repeat of the same question that you just answered the 38th time to the person standing RIGHT NEXT to them, your patience gets drawn to the snapping point. Also, there's a LOT of stuff that some retail chains do on purpose that seems wasteful. But if they can rack up billions in sales a year they've got something figured out. As far as school standards being too high, that's ********. School standards have dropped significantly since I was in high school, and that wasn't that long ago. Started with the "no one left behind" ********. If you're too stupid to p*** the cl*** you deserve to take it over until you do.
I get the same reaction when I pay with Gold dollar coins, Not only can't a lot of people figure them out, or belive that they are real, but they are clueless as to how to put them in the cash drawer...Want to try this for fun? Just go to the bank and ask for your money in $2 dollar bills or $25 rolls of dollar coin. Legal tender for all debts, public or private.
I often say, "Nothing goes right when it's directed by guy's in suits and ties.." It's obviously the problem in these parts stores, and possibly most of the rest of any business guided by corporate america these days... Example, I work for a large beverage company, keeping their fleet on the road. Our regional boss wants to cut out what he considers unnecisary inventory based on what he's seen in forien car factories like toyota. "Parts on demand this is called" He wants no inventory overhead as he insist that we can order any part we need and have it within a day, but of course it never works that way. We stock 2 of each tire for 60 tractor trailor combos, but it takes a week to replenish these tires... We never have the basics needed for common saftey like rubber hub cap plugs or 10 cent Gladhand seals! ( an airbrake necessity) We have the ability to change the wiperblades on one or 2 trucks per week, and oftentimes, we have to take trucks out of service just to wait for some $2 part!!! Not only does a truck sit out of service for days (and yes, there is a shortage of trucks) but It can take an easy hour to go fetch this truck to install a simple part that would of taken 5 minutes to put on.... so lets see...$30 worth of labor and the price of the part is more economical than stocking the $2 part in the first place???? It's obviously not right, but the boss is able to make himself look good on paper, with the magic of numbers. Think about that next time your drinking a $1 beverage that a fortune 500 company is making 99 cents profit on!!!! God please bless America, cause we're already ****ed....
I like how you edited my post. If you read the entire post. I said it's not right to get pissed or annoyed but you do. Also the point I was trying to make is no one wants to pay for the extra service. I can't count how many times I give advice or info on a product. The customer leaves and comes back one week later and wants to know how to install material he bought somewhere else or online. Mat
I visited my local Napa today for the first time as I have just moved and the guy behind the counter was great. He fell into the young 20's age range and I am unsure of what he knew about old cars, but he conversed about my project and ordered me what I needed without any issue. I will definitely be visiting this store for my entire build. The best part is that I ordered my parts at 4:30 PM Friday and he ***ured me he'd have them by 8:00 AM Saturday.
I use to have a International scout. Went to the parts store for a transmission cable and the girl at the counter told me they didn't have parts for Dump trucks
Must just be where I live, but in 10 years our school has went from education to just radically cramming stuff down your throat. I have a 24 on the ACT, and I'm not opposed to education, but the rate and amount of stuff forced on alot of students just overwhelms them, especially those not interested in college, or ever more so, near college level physics, algebra, geometry, etc. My brother's five, and he has to read and be tested on 50+ childrens books to p*** kindergarten. Holy ****! No nap time, less recess, no arts and crafts.
