What would you pay for this truck?????

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 4ever17, Mar 29, 2007.

  1. In my travels around the great state of Connecticut I came across this Plymouth pick up sitting in a parking lot off the beatin path. Driving down the street the average person would never even see this thing. I happened to catch a glmpse of the grill and roof line and had to investigate. I have not been able to talk to anyone about it yet to see if it is for sale.

What would you think the going price is for something like this? What would you pay??

I am just trying to get an idea in my head before I investigate it further.

talk to the owner, may be a priceless family heirloom or just something they like messing with.

    Looks like a 1938 Plymouth.

If it has the original drivetrain and runs, drives and stops...maybe around $3500 with a ***le. Possibly a little more if it has been changed to a newer drivetrain and it was a decent job, not a hack.

If it doesn't run, looks like $2000 or less to me.

There was a article much like Yours. The answer was, $300.00 to $2,500.00. The message was what the buyer thinks it's worth. That's true, A lot of people just want it out of there.

They call a junkyard, s**** iron place. Put a for sale sign up and see what the high offer is ! Then there's the guy who know's what it WORTH !

This happened to me on a GT HAWK, HOW MUCH. I offered $1,500.00 A Nice car tore down a bit. Next guy $1,800.00. I said TAKE IT. I wanted a 53 Stude Coupe, more then that one.

The biggest factor, How much REPAIR WORK, Chrome, Metal, etc. etc. It cost MONEY, one way or the other. Money saved in a SOLID CAR, and a COMPLETE car.

IF YOU REALLY LIKE THE CAR BUY IT OR IT COULD BE GONE !

What Price would You JUMP at ? Rip out Your wallet and say HERE !

    JUST SOME THINGS I'VE DONE.

Judging by the AMC wagon in the background, he is probably a collector.....

A Plymouth Pickup like that is worth more than a Deuce Pickup in comparable condition.

  13. That first pic looks as if there is at least a 1/4 inch of bondo in the front left fender.

The whole truck might be the same.

Anything remotely complete is almost an easy thousand bucks.

Each deal is different. To me, a bondo bucket is pretty much junk.

I recently picked up a 48 fleetline for $150. Same deal. Just saw it sitting behind a shop. Guy said it was going to the crusher and he would let it go for that price. Find the owner, let them talk first. You might be suprised.

  15. I live in around the same area as you, and I'd say something like that would bring 2000-2500 in running shape. If it's loaded with bondo though, depends on your talent and time. I might low-ball them if that's the case

  16. Do ya'll realize that was posted almost two years ago? It may have been crushed by now!!!!!
