I've got to strip some lambo wheels and they've got a soft black paint that doesn't respond well to most strippers. It flakes and blisters in some places while flat areas seem to get harder.
    Might be an electrocoat.
    Too soft to blast.
Can't use sodium hydroxide, it's on aluminum.
    Any good ideas?

    Nope.
    Tried it.
    Won't even phase this stuff.
    I need nitromorse.
Can't find the stuff over here.
    Don't know a good alternative.

  4. Have you tried any of the "Orange-based" strippers? I used some on some troublesome jobs and was amazed. Wayno

I just used some stuff called Redistrip on some valve covers and a bellhousing and the stuff worked incredibly well. Its non toxic and biodegradeable which i think is a big bonus. Clean up with soap and water. Just follow the directions, you cant go wrong. I got it at the local Do-It Center hardware store.
    good luck

I discovered brake fluid will strip anything off of anything! Someone knocked it on to my valve covers on the floor and four minutes later the paint looked like vinyl peeling off. I guess it was a good thing I was going to sand 'em down and polish them.

kinda costly but lacquer will eat up about anything. get a metal tub to soak them in....will be costly though but you could test a small spot first.

    Hi Steve!
You can't get Nitromors over there? bummer.
The ingredients of Nitromors are as follows; maybe you could make some [IMG]
    Dichloromethane
    Methanol
    Cellulose acetate
    Triethanolamine
    Paraffin wax
