    Hello,
I have just installed an EZ wiring harness into my 60 Chev, BUT.. am having issues with the GEN (Alternator) light. With the key in the ON position I should have my GEN and OIL (idiot) lights ON, they are not.

With the engine running I am getting 13.8volts back to battery. The GEN light will come ON at about 12.6v, when I stop the engine the GEN light goes out.

When I turn my lights ON, (the instrument lights) and have the key in ANY position my GEN and OIL lights are ON as they should be, when I start the engine they go out as they should, when I stop the engine the GEN light comes ON, and the OIL light comes ON, as it should.

I am getting volts at the base/case of the GEN/OIL/BRAKE light when the instrument lights are ON, I believe this is what is illuminating the GEN light when instument lights are ON.

I have Earthed the the battery to frame and frame to engine.

I hope I have explained this clear enough, any help, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

Also does anybody have wiring diagram for the windscreen wiper circuit for a 60 chev?

What light sockets are you using for the GEN and OIL lights? Originally they were a plastic socket with two wires, one pink and the other brown (gen) or dark blue (oil).

If you are using single wire, metal sockets, that is your problem.
