6-71 Base Gasket

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 345 DeSoto, Feb 8, 2009.

  1. Anyone got a 6-71 base gasket, or for that matter a 6-71, that they can shoot me the LOA front to back, and side to side? Need it for just the base, not length of the entire blower. Also need the same thing for the top...where the carburetor mounting plate bolts to. Thanks, guys.....

Send me your address, I have a gasket I can send you!

  3. GAS - I'm in Florida, and ALL my "stuff", gaskets included, is in NY. Just need a measurement, as I'm looking to buy 3/4" plate to start building an intake and don't want to get a plate that's too small. THANKS though, for the kind offer...:)

Have one of our 671-4x2 top carburetor plates on my desk, it measures 5.5" x 14.125". You could go only a little smaller.

The first casting came out well, but we discovered some changes needed to the pattern to reduce casting time. Pattern changes and machining of the first casting to be done this week. If everything is right, we will start regular production on them.

  12. HAMILTONINTAKES - I found a nice description of these intakes on your Web Site once, but lost it. Since then, I cannot find it on your Site. Any help here? And is it okay to p*** along the news to the other DeSoto guys on the H.A.M.B.? We've been patiently waiting for an intake for the low deck 276-291 DeSotos (for decades!) to REALLY wake them up...

You can p*** on the info. I took down the full description, because we started a Chrysler intake which delayed the Desoto. I plan to post a full description again of the new intake as soon as I can also post a photo of a completed part. We have had a lot of interest in the intakes, so I am glad they are nearly done.
