I just bought this one and plan to put it in 32gals roadster. Figure it will knock the chill off a little on a cold day! Who else is running one?

Heaters are for girls. I guess that explains why my wife does not ride with me when it's cold:eek:

Have one, but have never used it. After working my ass off for 33 years and now retired, why would I want to be uncomfortable?
    I didn't retire at 52 because I'm stupid.

What does it matter what other people think - and usually they don't? If you want to fit it, do so. Yes I'll run one in my roadster and I run one in my coupe - so I am a wuss? Maybe? But should I give a damn? - I am not beholden to the 'Court of Public Opinion'.

You could get a 12 volt motor from the parts store and put it in. This is what we do with them and it's cheap enough to do.

Around here only the chainers have them. AC is a different story, but even then my cars have 2-55 air.

I've got the same one for my roadster. I'm too cheap to get the chrome redone. I love the art deco styling.

This month's issue of Hot Rod Deluxe has a story I did on adapting an underseat heater from a '50s GM ('54 Buick, specifically, but lots of '50s and early Buicks and Pontiacs had 'em) into my '62 Suburban.

Tucks under the seat, does a nice job of keeping you warm. Not driving a closed-cab hot rod because it's a cold fall day is just retarded. I can see parking them when the snow and salt are flying, but when we've got the ability to enjoy the car deep into the fall, it makes no sense to me.

  19. . Hey Heater Guy.... Your profile says your from California... W.T.F.???
I could understand if you said you were putting it in because of how cool it looked... Mabey I'm biased because I live in chicago and spend my time trying to start trucks and thaw out air brake systems when it's -20 below...
Either way this post got me thinking of my dad's 49' ford which was sold at Litzinger ford here in chicago. It came equipped with one option....The heater!!!!!
Another fun fact: Preston Tucker (48' tucker) used to be a chicago cop, but got himself fired for cutting holes in the firewalls of the squad cars to get some of that heat that was just wasting away off of the motors....C'mon....It's not like anyone else was using it...

  23. I have heat and air in my pickup,,,creative solution was to install it under the seat riser,,,with all the air holes and no interior the heat works pretty good,,,I hate being cold! HRP

I like the seat cover. It would go nice with my Boyd shirt. Really, I do like it.

Every time I turn the heater on in the Impala it blows crap all over me, so I just leave it off. No heaters for me.
