Make some sort of Z irons, and rearrange the "wishbones" so they clear the frame and running board brackets
you can see they are flat against in this picture

the back is the easy part ;)

the front end is going to be touchy with tire clearance to the fenders

It is so amazing on how a few inches make such a big difference on a car like this... I'm kinda blown away, can't wait to see it in person... and ride in it in a few weeks? haha... that's gonna be a blast man... now you will finally have a hot rod roadster that my bel air can keep up with!

  11. Zach,

flyin-T downloaded some pics and info on Gabby Garrison's T in post #65 of January's Banger Meet... said he was friends with Gabby and seemed to have a good knowledge of the car- you might want to PM him.

You keep finding all this good stuff around the area I grew up in- makes me strongly consider moving back!

    thanks,
I'd sure like to have it done by then. Don't think I would bring it to the show though, unfortunately.

Years ago a Too Tall Editor was selling a 49 Suburban in HRM, and it had a picture of it way lowered.

Of course the advert said "lowering not included".

When I saw the diamond in the rough, it instantly reminded me it the advert.

looks like a great Jitney Zach. You seem to be able to top up my envy of you every time its starting to dwindle. ;)

Hi Zach. I saw your photos of "The Briner Bros T" on the banger thread, but somehow I had missed this thread. Like I said on that thread, fantastic T and you really MUST keep that lettering and patina on the body...especially now that I've officially given it a historical name! ;) Its kinda like naming a cow...can't eat it once you give it a name.

    T-Time,
I hate to admit it, but I dont think that the lettering is going to survive.
The drivers side of the body needs patched up into the lettering, and trying to match the red in would be difficult. Plus the fenders are already all repainted gloss black.
I think if I had found it before anyone worked on it I would have left it alone.

    We'll see....

looking real good zach... I wonder if you need to go much lower? I agree... the patina would look neat if in better shape, but with all the patching needed, the car would look like a hack job, plus will look nicer all shiney black and white like...

If you need a driver's side wooden frame rail, give my brother a call... not sure if you could shorten the touring one up for the roadster? if anything, those aren't that hard to reproduce...

    thanks
not gona be any lower i dont think, gotta drop the axle a good bit to get clearance at this height

maybe the back a little bit more, I'd like it level or slightly nose high

    still deciding on wheels
redrilled all the wooden wheel T hubs to temporarily put one some A wheels

getting the upholstery out too.... there was an old quilt in there for padding!

Give some thought to patching where needed, and then just primering (ruddy red primer), instead of trying to paint match. Hit that new paint on the fenders with some de-glosser to remove the shine.

I wish that I had a better body that I could trade you for it, but I don't have anything so sporty. All mine are '26/27 tourings, tudors, and tourings cut in half (bodies for modifieds). No sporty roadster bodies in "fixable" condition.

I remember that! The photo had the wheels scissored out, moved up, and taped in place. Pat Ganahl, progenitor of Photochopping!

I'm really liking this T, can't wait to see how it turns out.
