I've seen some general discussion about putting a steel firewall in a fibergl*** body, but has anyone actually done it? Any details or pitfalls you can share? I'm specifically looking for someone that has done it on a Wescott body, since that's what I have. Thanks in advance for any info!
I had a non-Wescott over a stock firewall and it did work out well but did start cracking around the lip of the firewall because it was cut out too thin. I would make sure you left that area plenty thick even if you had to section the firewall a bit to fit it in. I think there is/was a green highboy in the Portland area that has a stock firewall.
There were no specifics in that post, just general comments. Some one must have done this before? Anything at all to share on the process? Thanks!
You should just sell that one and get a steel one. Heck I would even take that one off your hands so you won't have to worry about it working or not. LOL
Not a wescott body but this should help you http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324514&highlight=32+gl***+coupe
