thanks guys. going to leave the 3.2 4 cyl in there. Go with a nice head and a header. It has a 4bbl holley on there now.
updates on the current progress: parts I picked up for the brakes! New rear Wheel Cylinders (that took me 2 months to find) Redoing the trunk Cleaning up interior Working on the hubcaps Cleaning up the front in preparation for the new undercoating
Hi Chemik, I drive a '62 convertible (4-cyl) as my daily and lemme tell you brakes are your biggest headache out of the gate. No automatic adjusters seems to cause a lot of the problems. I'll adjust them and it drives great for about two or three weeks, then goes back to being a bit 'unpredictable'. Been wanting to do some research on how to fit adjusters off a later car, can't have her apart for very long though unless I want to dust off the old bicycle though. Guess I'll eventually break down and shell out for one of the two disc conversions on the market. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself as a fellow little indian.
Really? I dont want to hear that! haha. Did 62 novas have auto adjusters? I remember the brakes on that were pretty decent. I looked into the disc conversion for the front but see that I cant use my stock wheels and I dont want to go aftermarket. Plus Id need a different proportioning valve and the different master cylinder. Sounds like $500+ I dont need to spend haha. Thanks for the heads up, Ill hopefully have this on the road in a week. I ordered the whitewall paint and will be painting the rims red since the car will be going black in about a month. Thanks!
