Hi i have been a closet lurker for a while and have recently come across a 1950 chevy four door for sale that im working on buying. that has been the main thing sticking in my mind lately as it is currently owned buy a guy in my class. i ahve some time to scrape the money togther a she is going to get married in the summer and needs the money more than the car.

a few years ago i had some money and could only afford a rusty beast that would probablly never be drivable so in stead of fooling myself in to thinking i could do it along with way to many hours at work, a wife with MS and two little kids i bought a running driving bug. it has served me well as my toy and now that i drive it daily i have some room to play with something in the garage.

the bug was a learing tool as it now sports four wheel disk brakes, front and rear sway bars strut bars, custom exhaust that i built, dual carbs and a full MSD ignition.

i was tuning it up a couple of weeks ago with my son and was teaching him about what makes the spark. i told him to watch it as i was trying to figure out which pulg was not firing. he saw the spark and then i told him about how it hurts to get "the spark". just then the spark found the apparent tiny cut in the ignition pliers and smacked me hard.

    that sucked.

i have had a 1972 chevelle and a 1972 nova in the past. i am ready for the '50 to come to me so i can make it in to a cool cruiser and semi custom.

i also learned how to pinstripe a while ago and that is a good creative outlet for the devils hands....

i took the shock therapy treatment three times before found the problem and i quit fooling with it. the MSD boots are hard to get on to the plugs in the car and one was not seated well causing a miss.

a little lithium grease on the inside and they all just slid into place.

now you can barely see me twitch....

it has a real Tijuana interior in it. the PO drove it down there and had it done. it sports a 235 six with powerglide. the manifold has been split and thats about it.

oh and it was rescued from a junk yard some time ago.

yeppers! they still are in it. i have talked to the guy on several occasions about his car and when he was looking to sell i happened to be able to afford it. it is a nice car and some day i will change the suspension just not for a while.

it only goes up and down front and rear, no side to side. i figured it is worth something to someone when i take it out.

cool man. yeah, even if you don't have the car you should come see what it's all about. you'll dig it. we usually have a great turn out.

if you do, come introduce yourself, my name's jake. i'll be the guy with big sideburns and tattoos driving a big blue bagged chrysler.

    hope to see you then.

well the glass still has not shown up and i was tired of waiting and just put the old broken glass back in the side of it.

when i was a driving around i was going a normal speed for my other cars and went over the train tracks, hydro batterys not locked down and ripped out a switch wire. no up and down in the rear. now i need to get to the PO and have him decipher his wiring job.

i also made all of the locks work after the locksmith made me new keys for the front doors. he only charged $20 which is a pleasant price to pay for peace of mind. all of the doors now lock along with the trunk.

it was a good day. well other than being trapped at the bottom of the hydros.
