Building a 64 Lesabre drag car and the power brakes is not needed. Looks like the booster is mounted to a plate which is mounted to the firewall. I want a dual manual master cylinder in its place. Has anyone done this swap? Thanks

It's a pretty heavy car (we have a 63), I would keep the power brakes.

X2... Some 80's GM cars had those nifty 12 volt vacuum pumps. you could pick one up cheap to compensate for the big cam.

I would look into putting a better M.C. on it tho... The single cylinder "jelly jars" scare the hell outa me.... Bad personal expirence!

Or if using power steering, a lot of Ford products used a power steering and va***e master combo unit.

Inline Tube has a dual master cylinder conversion for the smaller '64-'65 GM A-bodies (Chevelle, GTO, etc). Includes m/c, pre-formed lines and new distribution block. I'm doing one now on my '64 Tempest but need a different pushrod (which I found) and the pre-formed lines need tweaking. The distribution block bolts up to existing front and rear lines. This is for manual, drum/drum. Dunno if the larger GM bodies use the same hardware.........the Tempest has 9.5" drums.............I think the Le Sabre has 11 or 12". Take a look at their catalog..........you may find something you can use.
