I graduated high school in '88, still driving my first car. Solid black '56 Chevy 210 post. 350/400 combo and shift kit. Barked second whether you wanted to or not.

Had a rusty set of Cragars on it that I blasted and painted black with trim rings. Black velvet interior with yellow piping. God I miss that car.

Sold it to pay for school in '89, went to a fellow in KCMO and as far as I know is still in that area, although there's been one at the Hamb Drags the last two years thats about 95% identical. Kills me to look at it.

  7. Could have been a '62 Lemans 2dr (SD 4cyl. 4sp.) or '65 Corvair Convertible, don't remember which month I sold the Pontiac. Either way, it was my daily driver.

A fricken sweet Pontiac T1000!! Yes the cadillac of chevette's.

Nothing can make you appreciate a real car, or working brakes, like a chevette.

It was my Buick, all original, bought for $350.00, and only needed painted. 34000 original miles, Thought the upholstry was shot, Found out they covered it all, except for the head liner, and the covers were shot. No rust, was told it had a cracked block, had the water pump rebuilt and that was that. Iceman

I had a 1971 240Z with one of the sweetest engines I've every had in a car; that thing just sang when you ran it though the gears. 2.4l overhead cam bored .60 over, hot cam, more compression, ballanced, three side draft webers, header and nice exaust. It was a really fun autocross car, a quick commuter, and every bit a hot rod even if not a traditional American one.

Oh, and I had a '67 Mustang with a 6 cyl/3 spd that was a total piece of shit.

  22. In 1988 I had a '69 Porsche 912, '72 BMW 2.8CS and a '74 El Camino.
