A local guy told me about a hand held tool that will create an offset lip on the edge of a peice of sheet metal so I can slip that edge under another peice of metal (like in an area of body panel repair) and then weld it together without having to do a true butt weld.

What is that tool called and where do I get one? I picture something like a pair of pliers with a set of teeth that will create an offset ledge that I can just move along the edge of the patch panel to create the offset lip.

Obviously a bead roller could do the same but I don't have the $$ to get that just yet.

I made a set out of a pair of vise grips, and some left over stock. The jaws look like two L 180 deg. from each other. Some one also make a small air powered one, just not sure who.
