I have been carrying my tools in my Dad's WWII tool pouch. Old olive drab green........ Kind of hip. While going throught the pouch the other night, I ran across an adjustable wrench that I can remember seeing since I was a little kid. I showed it to a couple of guys who said they have never seen one like it. It is a 2 sided adjustable wrenchmade by the Diamond Tool Company out of Diluth MN. Anyone else seen one of these? anyone know it's purpose for having 2 heads? And it is not that big
I'd go with Rt. hand/Lt hand also, but who knows for sure. I used to have a fairly large, adjustable, cresent wrench, that the knurled thumb screw worked just opposite of every cresent wrench I ever had. Finally got tired of the thing, and gave it to a friend that had a right arm deformity since birth, he was forced to be left handed and really liked the wrench I gave him. An, being right handed, I was glad to get rid of it. Buch/56sedandelivery.
I clicked on this thread because of the ***le....I thought he was talking about me. I think it was made so you could have a smaller wrench in one tool....space limitations...just my guess. As a left hander, I can almost guarantee that it is NOT a left hand/right hand wrench. They still do not make that many USEFUL left handed tools. Who ever heard of a left handed adjustable wrench, anyway? (Probably somebody on the H.A.M.B., no doubt!!). Still, that thing is very cool. From the above posts, there might be quite a few of them out there. E-Mail Diamond Tool and ask. Do't know if they are still in business. I do remember that quite a few machinists seemed to always use Diamond adjustable wrenches. Mike
My guess would be if its army issue, you could have two sizes set at once to save time in the depths of battle...if its not u.s issue might just be a lazymans wrench!
You notice that one set of jaws is in line with the handle. The other set is at an angle to the handle. That arrangement is so the wrench can get a new bite in close quarters.
It's for all those times you have two bolts about 6" away from each other. Set it and forget it, then go tighten the other side. Think of the time _this_ guy coulda saved!
aw, cmon guyd. The answer is perfectly obvious...."two heads are better than one"..... duh. I got one of those out of a wercked car one time, still have it too. comes in handy sometimes.
