Normally I'm not a tri-five guy. I've had a few but more interested in old Ford iron. That being said, I'm really impressed with what your doing. G***ers are cool and from the looks of the work your doing you'll have an awsome car when done. Congratulations!!

Wow , man if i wasnt motivated before , i sure as hell am now . Thanks for the comments guys , it is greatly appreciated.

Ive always been into rods , actually worked with my dad back when i was 12 or 13 pourin concrete for a week , made 200 bucks . My mom said i needed to go open a savings account . Almost before she could finish the sentance i was 200 bucks lighter but i had a 30 model a tudor shell sittin in the driveway, it was wayyyy beyond anything a 12 year old could build but i had one , and i could tell all my buddies i owned a model a , none of them knew what i was talking about but i was cool in my own mind ha ha a. It got sold about 4 years later for the smae 200 i gave for it . Figure after this one , ill start on the 32 5 window ive always wanted. But the fiver has to come first.

  20. Some time I'll post some pics of the old style lift bars I built for my friend Vic Young's 55. I like the long ladder bars myself. I ran some Ansen ground grabbers on a 56 I used to have, they were awesome. ******* bars are fine on a car like yours and they work great.

`57 trunk lid?...Also I see you kept the original cross member. Many cut it out due to axle clearence...You`ll need to put some weight on front end to see how far it drops...Where did you put your rear springs? Under or inside? I am running ladders on my 55 g***er project...Your ride is looking great so far...

  25. One of the coolest cars around, the 55, with open wheel wells, friend had one in High School, had wide whites, named it, The Clown Car. I am still looking for one to do, only 62, I still have some time, I hope!!! Get-er done!!

I've got a pair of those traction bars on my 55.....they were actually on the car when I bought it back in 1977, and I've kept 'em even though I narrowed the frame rails in back 14" and put in a narrowed 9" Ford and wheel tubs. I believe they were made by Ansen, and they were called "ground grabbers". They work very well, and they're hell for stout. I cleaned up the appearance of mine a little by rounding the corners and cutting off a little excess bulk. They've never broken, and even with a stout big block, 4 speed, and 4.86 rear gears, there's no wheel hop.
