Hot Rods WINTER PROJECT: The LEGION SPECIAL from the Beginning to UPDATE #7! Matt Gets INJURED

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by KIRK!, Feb 7, 2009.

  1. That looks good. The peaked element on the top and bottom really bring some life to it. I assume it will be chrome or polished and sit on top of the paint or will it be flush mounted?

Not that my opinion matters ... but I like #6 best too!

I like #6 also... It has a utility look without trying to look too fancy... Jason

  7. Although I didn't word it well I was more talking about the surround (if that is what one would call it) the part with the peaks. Will it sit proud of the grill shell like the car in the picture?

  9. Dunno... I still like the idea of round at the top and square w/ rounded edges at the bottom- it seems accent the nose better and you can still use the peaks.

Was it Ed Roth that said "Kustoms are for getting chicks hot rods are for getting rid of them"?

You built May Cause Dangerous... and now this - You trying to ditch someone?

I liked picture number 6 as well. I wouldn't highlight my large balls out front. If I had large balls, not that I don't, just saying that if I did or didn't I wouldn't highlight them out front but it's not really any of your business if I have large balls now is it? Where do you guys get off having a thread about how large my balls are? This thread is about building cars damn it, not about how big [or small] my balls are. Peter

You might wonder how I knew that? I followed behind the Alfa going from the lakes to Palmdale, and the driver took a big swing through the sage brush on one of the right angle bends and kept the power on all of the way.
Of course, I couldn't keep up with the darn thing, but I could see the dust in the air.

I was kidding, but here goes:

I think your original sketch was great looking. If your final solution captures the feeling of the sketch, you'll be fine.

To those concerned with the size/ scale/ whathaveyou of this track nose:

I saw it in person today and its right on- Matt's a Metal Master. I don't think some of the pictures do it proper justice. The stance, the size, the curve and the workmanship are all very, very right.
If it gets a cool grill, its a home run. Just my opinion.

Matt has been dolly and hammering like a lunatic the past few nights and the nose is really coming along. He said he'll post an update next week.

I got the steering box in. It's further along than these photos, but you get the idea. The excess part of the steering box housing on the left has been cut off to make room for the brake pedal and I put together a column and column drop.
