    Hi everybody,
I have a 47 ford four door. I want to put steel wheels back on it. From what I understand it came with 16 inch wheels. I want to put 15 inch wheels on it. What other car or truck 15 inch wheels would fit?

    Thanks :)

I believe Ford F-100 pickup wheels are 15 inch and have a 5 x 51/2 bolt pattern. Also some early Merc wheels where 15". Both have the same sort of look as early 40's 16" wheels and accept the early style hubcaps (like the ones that came on your 47)

    Hi,

50's Mopar big cars, Imperial, Chrysler etc. are 5 x 5 1/2. For my 1952 Plymouth/hemi build I am going to use steel wheels so I can use some 1956 Chrysler hubcaps I have. I am going to have Early Wheel in Morro Bay, Ca. (Bear Metal Customs) make me some wheels with my width/offset requirements.

  4. I am running 15x7 steelies from Coker and original caps with 235-75-15 tires on my '48 ford coupe and they just barely clear the front lower outter fender lip, but they do clear. Also, any 60's to 70's ford F-100 steel wheel (15x6 I think) will fit but the original caps will not.

49-51 Merc and Lincoln 15 in. wheels have the " hubcap knubs" on the outside and will not accept early Ford hubcaps where you need the knubs on the inside.

Nice coupe, now that I see how they look on yours I really want to do the steel wheels and www's Since mine is the same color I can see how it will look. Except mine has a couple of extra door's.

  9. Ford pickups into the early '60s will take the '40-'48 caps. '48-'56 pickups came with the same caps as '47-'48 car.

46 to 48 Mercs had 15" wheels. I think they were 4 1/2" wide. Don't think it would be easy to find a set nowadays
