I sold the '57 about 1980 and bought the '60 348 4 sp car. Great fun till you tear the upper control arm out or shuck the drive shaft on El Camino Real.

20 years ago you could probably catch me cruising the front yard in my Big Foot power wheels or my cast iron John Deer pedal tractor(learned how to back a trailor on my little deer).

The year....1989 and I was a struggling radio and club DJ...so I was poor and broke. Top Ramen was my main source of food and going to Taco Bell meant i had some money left over after after paying bills.

A friend of mine had bought this little car new somewhere around 81 and had driven it many many miles from Taft Ca to SF CA back and forth hauling a marshall half stack and other equipment. The car was leaking oil badly and he thought it was on its last leg. So, he parked it and bought a new car.

I ended up buying the car off of him for 500 bucks. I found out that the oil leak was from the broken plastic seal on the oil sensor. I changed that and cleaned up the oil mess and drove that car...no abused that car for almost 6 years before selling it to another friend who abused it for a couple more years and in all that time the only thing that had ever been done to the car was change the oil and put gas in it. I do not even know if the air filter was ever changed.

Best daily driver I ever owned and I should have never sold it.

That car was a 81 Toyota Starlet...that looked just like this one.

do you always have to do this?

we are all very capable of doing the basic math, just like you...

no need to constantly point out how wrong we all are at everything.

    gotcha bro.;)

Our daily driver was the '57 Chevy that we still have. My wife drove it everywhere, girl scout meetings( she was a leader), grocery store, literally everywhere. It was our daily for several years. It had a 350 and a 4 speed. Now it has a 327 and the same ******. It was flat black. I usually rode the Harley that we still own, a '75 Shovel in a rigid frame, either that or an old Ford truck that's long gone.

A clapped out '64 Galaxie 4 door named Minerva that was given to me by a friend's mom because he already had 20 cars! He's still got the 20, plus more. I traded the Galaxie for an AMC Police Interceptor motor for my Jeep after my brother grenaded the Galaxie cooling system the following winter delivering pizza! I bet he was cold running that thing home!
