Hey there, I'm going to (re)do my custom '49 in a 60's Drag/Gasser style soon. for the past 6-7 years mine has been custom styled with: 4" chopped top, shaved, custom grille, frenched, peaked fenders, channlled bed, bagged, 72 Nova disc braked/front clip, 9" 4-Link rear end, etc., etc., BUT I'm thinking I'm going to turn it into an ol-skool "quarter-miler." Right now I'm doing some reserach on chassis specs and will likely scrap/sell my existing frame and airbag set up and build up my own square tube chassis, leaf spring, straight axle set up... Pluck out the pretty healthy SBC that's in it, sell that and drop in a BBC with more umph! My goal is to cage it, weld the front end sheet metal together, make it a tilt one-piece front end and set it up for mid 10 sec passes. If you've been able to locate some pics of any trucks done up similar, please share.
