Chrome starts "spidering"/flaking off the minute you "lightly" tighten a bumper bolt down. Had 3 different bumpers over the years and all the same. Still owe me on a core that they were "too busy" to return my money I paid for core charge when I purchased a bumper. Now say my receipt is "too old"!! Walk right on past them!!! Hope someone knows their email address and sends them these threads.

I saw them at a local swap meet about 3 years ago..was looking for a rear bumper for my O/T car (68 Charger)..they had one..
flipped it over on the back side and could peal the chrome off the back..and if i kept pulling on it..it would have come around to the front side and kept pulling off..reminded me of a stick of juicy fruit gum in its tin wrapper..dont fool your self with their work..it sucks..and you will get ripped off ..you have now been fairly warned..

the reason they stay in Buiz is because people dont listen, and people are impulse buyers..(it looks good buy it) and also people dont know enough about chrome to know if its a good job or not..and not alot of people are HAMBers and ask about them or search them on here to know about their game.

they think hey this will look good on my car..and hey its only 300 bucks..man thats a great deal..Bam..hooked! line and sinker.

  3. Had Bumper Shop do a rear on my 69 VW single cab, did a good enough job on it, and got the same bumper back ! Some pitting in the crome in a spot. But this bumper was split at the mounting bracket and had to be welded. Make sure if any welding is done to your bumper, they won't "warranty" and chrome work done to anything welded I found out later. I had heard nothing but bad stuff about the Bumper Boyz, so i went the other route. Someone said there always is a pissed off customer at the Trailer, it's true lost 57 trim, not my bumper, it cloudy. run away !

I hand picked a front bumper for my 65 Chevelle about 10 years ago at Daytona Turkey Rod Run on the last day of the swap meet, got it 75.00 and it still looked new when I sold the car 6 years later, never ordered anything from them. Spike

Those guys come to Cars&Parts Swap Meet every year here in Springfield. They do a lot of business there. The only horror stories I've heard were from a guy named Chuck from Streeterchrome in LA. He said they are sheisters and aren't allowed in Cali, even though that is where they're from. Something about their under the table business practices. He talks smack about them every other year he comes to the same swap meet. I believe he also said they don't actually do the work. They buy it from other shops and have stock relayed to them on the road.

May be an old thread but Bumper Boyz is the Pits, a Falcon Core was lost overnight at Moultrie in November 2008, never did turn up. At the same time there was a guy bitching about a vintage VW bumper that was a perfect German example, well he got back a JC Whitney special. They offered him a 10% on his next purchase. People ran after hearing that...

    So . . . I guess this is a good racket!!

Take the nice cores and sell them who knows where, and send the goober folks back some junk.

I bet they cheat at poker too!!

I am surprised that, by now, some H.A.M.B er has not taught them to play fair.

theres a chrome shop called orange county plating they did some work for me. they took pics of everything you brought them and gave you a copy so when you picked up you got what you brought in. we the consumer need to get the word out on this shop so others can stay clear of them. and they will either close there doors or fly straight.

I just joined ,so I could bad mouth these low life bunber boy idiots, I'll go on every website and tell everyone not to use their cheap inferior bumpers They burned me twice,I'm fighting with my credit card company over this ,These assholes want me to go to Englishtown NJ ( a 2 hour drive) , or go way the hell out to Carlisle Pa. (A 4 hour drive) and they will exchange the bumper again !! I already did this twice !! I got 2 yellow and peeling bumpers! One guy got their bumper ,still in the box , never put on the car ... chrome coming off , They said "Oh its out of warranty" They told a customer 'Oh we had had a bunch of Mexicans who were drunk that day in the shop ,rechroming !! They are eliminating 1 of the plating processes, the copper !! .. Then they also spray grey paint all over the back of the bumber right over the rust so the chrome doesn't stick!! Thats why the edges are yellow !!! Hey asshole douchbag buper idiots , You'll get your bumber back ..right up your ass !! I'm fed up and pissed off !! Watch your back !!!!!!!!!!! Heres their e mail ..
