Hello all, I am building a '37 Ford coupe with a 351 Cleveland 2V motor. I would like to run something other than the usual single 4 barrel carb. Does anyone know if a 3 2-barrel setup was made for this motor? Did Ford or the aftermarket offer one?
I am aware of the BG six shooter but can't afford the price.
Thanks for any leads you can provide.

I may be showing my Blue Oval ignorance here, but I am going to try it out.

I thought there was an adapter that will allow for the use of a Windsor intake- similar to the ones to go from 302 to 351 and so on.

and I am pretty sure the Holman moody ones are still avalible. They still had a website up last time I looked. it used the holley 2 barrels as I recall.

But again, I may be showing my ass here.

    That's for the 351W, not the C.

    351C is a totally different monster than a 302 351w

I've seen a photo of an unfinished home made log intake for a C.

that's just it- instead of the wider 351 windsor, it used the narrower 302 intake, and was kinda weird looking.

again...This may have been something someone made.

Yeah there's adaptors for using 289/302 intakes on the 351W. The 351C uses a totaly different intake, the most obvious is it's a dry intake.

A Cleveland in a 37 Coupe sounds quite interesting. Is the engine already in the coupe? Got any pics?

Most of the way down this page is the unfinished log intake.

  13. You certainly can, Lux is correct. :)

Use Price Motorsports AP-06C adapters, if you have a 351C with 2V heads, and you can use the 3x2 Blue Thunder 302/SBF intake, or the Edelbrock 2x4 intake, for that matter. BTW, the Holman-Moody 3x2 is made by Blue Thunder, it just has H&M cast into it.

Use AP-35 adapters if the 351C has 4V heads...this takes you to using a 351W intake, (of which Edelbrock makes a 2x4)...or, you could possibly then stack AP-01 or AP-04 adapters & use a SBF intake. (Or you could fab adapters to replace the two adapters with one.) Obviously there would be a lot of matching, fitting, etc., and it's hard to say how it would run...maybe fine, maybe with a lot of mixture distribution problems. The AP-35 adapters move the W intake to the top of the 4V ports, and Price recommends that you use stuffers in the 4V intake ports to improve things.

Obviously a handy person could fab his own adapters & save some $$, with patience.

Beyond that, Weiand still makes a 4V tunnel ram, and as mentioned there are 351C Weber intakes...

All this aside, there is only one direct-fit 3x2 intake I know of for the Cleveland, and they were experimental Ford pieces. Occasionally one pops up here & there.

I couldn't find a picture right now but here is some info I found on the 3-2V intake. If you an find one it's going to be VERY expensive.

    "Ford 3x2 Barrel
    - experimental 3x2 barrel dual plane intake
    - designed to use either Corvette or big block Mopar vacuum secondary tri-power Holley
    2 barrel carbs
    - due to carb spacing, only side hung float bowl will fit
    - very rare"

First, Thanks to all for the info. It has 2V heads so I will look into the adapters.
The engine is in the car and some pics are below. It is mated to an AOD trans and an 8.8 rear end. To make room I replaced the firewall with a direct sheet metal "small block Ford" unit. Sanderson makes a set of block huggers that just fit. The front engine mount is a modified version of the mount from Speedway Motors.

    Thanks again,

Thanks for the pics and description. Lookin' Good! So the motor mounts are SBF motor mounts from Speedway? How modified? Or, am I not understanding?

The engine mount from Speedway is a tubular cross member with two uprights welded on. It is for the 351/400 engines. The part number 916-18014. I had to move the uprights in an attempt to get the engine to sit a little lower.
