Another new guy from maryland

I'm 51 years old and I grew up in Wheaton, Maryland. As a kid my dad would take me to all the local tracks (75 and 80, Capitol, and Aquasco). I moved to Southern Maryland in the mid 80's. I've been a lineman for 23 years, married for 27 years and have two kids. I've been collecting drag racing memorabilia all my life and just enjoy this old car hobby.

 

With Schwinn in your name you cant be all bad! velkommen!

 

Welcome. We're getting a pretty good crowd on here from the "Free State" where by the way, nothing is free!

Thanks man appreciate the article sure hope 75 & 80 does open back up. Was up there a couple months ago, sad sight but they did have the best chili dogs in the world

 

Let's hope the rumor is true.....I miss old 75-80.

Welcome.... Good to see some more hot rodder's from Maryland on here. My Uncle an Grandmother live in LaPlata, back in Woodhaven Park. I'm in Brandywine but I hang around down that way every now and then.

It is a good thing, seeing other Maryland car heads posting replies. I'm in Kingsville, Md. and want to let you guys know about the Lowes Cruise nights. Every Friday night begging in April continuing through fall people hang out at Lowes parking lot below Belair off of rt. 24. They get a good crowd and a nice mix of cars.

Love Maryland! I spent a nice 6 months of my life at APG down in aberdeen, Every Sunday I went up to capital city raceway! You guys build some fast 80's cars up there ( I saw a 10 Sec. Regal on street tires!)

I wouldn't sweat it Don. John busted on me for being a cripple but advertised on here that "he" is an "a"hole. It's all in good fun but I think we're scaring the new guy.

 

I miss 75&80 raceway... I do hope they reopen that track someday soon. That was my all time favorite track!!!!!
