looks like a great project! Can you tell us the story of how you got this sedan delivery from Argentina? I understand there is a lot of old tin still there, but that it is very difficult to get it out of the country. How did you manage to do that?

Thank you all, a brief history of me and my future hot rod

Is February 2006, I hope to find a cheap project, not as rusty and with a good frame and I’ve not as so mutch bucks in my pockets. I can’t go in the U.S. for find one, have to work so mutch so I look in the web for find one. I look for ’32 ’33 ’34 fords but are all too expensive for me, I have to buy the car, ship it in Italy pay for taxes and parts.. searching and searching after two monts I remain folgorated from delivery sedans and I NEED one. Delivery are rare to find as cheap projects in the web but one month later I find one from google images :O hoping isn’t sold I contact the dealer, two days after he reply to me and is still for sale! The dream comes true, I organize the shipping and two months after I go to Genoas harbor to pick up it. The car is a piece of ****, rusty, smell like ******** and risk the break in the front of body but nobody can take off my smile. Actually I’ve separated the body from the frame and I cut “x” crossmember, pics come soon

Yeah, one lucky rodder to score a 33/34 sedan delivery.
I have also bought cars from Argentina and Mexico recently.
Getting cars from Argentina requires a lot of logistics and patience with the system down there.
However there are some fanatstic cars to be had, but my personal ...
2 cents worth.... is go there in person, buy the car in person, load it and then only then return back home after you actually see the thing on the ship, as there are too many variables that will stress you to the hilt at the end of the day.
But what a score. Congrats.... Coke-bottle.

    james d,

I'm not scared from law, I know people in Italy who have hot rods and rat rods with engine swapped and fenderless who can drive without problems. the only thing who you must do? PAY!

Luca, what a really cool project. I've always liked the 34 sedan deliveries and it looks you've already completed the hardest part of your project and that was getting the car delivered. It appears you have the patience and skills to finish your goals. Keep the pics of the build coming as you progress.

Definitely keep us posted on the progress on this one. I'm continually amazed at what you rodders in foreign countries (foreign to us here in the spoiled US) are able to build when you have to rely on so much that has to be imported.
Your delivery would be a rare find here. I can't imagine you ever coming across another one in Italy.

Luca, Welcome to the HAMB, thank you for the photos and story about your Sedan Delivery. I had an original gas tank for one that went off to Australia a few months ago. The gas filler is located differently than the tanks on other body styles. I often wonder if there are parts/car container arangements on the East Coast for shipment to Europe like they have setup for Australia to save on shipping costs. Whenever I see a project being built overseas I just wonder how much gets spent on shipping parts. Good luck, please keep sending updates. Bob
