Have a G***er project I am building and looking for ideas on how to make a set of rear fenders for the pickup box. I am looking for fenders like was on the Willy`s pickups. I have seen a number of trucks with trailer fenders but I don`t like the look. Tring to find a post or site that shows a set of rear fenders being made or ideas on something that can be used to make a set of rear fenders. Thanks

what years are you looking for, '33-'38 or '39-'43? they sell rears for the 33-38 pickups.
you are right about the '39-'43's though.
i have the same problem for a '33 coupe and '33 pickup i have.
i noticed that the Plymouth rear fenders that speedway sells, look a lot like the Willy's.

the '39-'43's are su****iously like trailer fenders stock. i would imagine that most of the 'gl*** shops that sell the '39-'43 pickups, sell the stock rear fender.
they don't say on this pickup if the rears are stock but, the bed is fabbed to stock dimensions.

That last pic is what I don`t like. they are much like the trailer fenders you can buy.The fist pic is what I`m after. A set of Model A fenders might work.Finding a set in these parts is the problem, rust belt!! I wonder if any of the metal shapers out there might know to a link to a build of a set of rear fenders? Not a lover of fibergl*** and enjoy working with steel.

What kind of tools ya got? An e-wheel would be a big help for fabbing fenders. A rear fender for a truck like that would be a lot like half of a motorcycle fender. Lots of info at http://metalmeet.com .

Those are just some examples that have the techniques you'll need and answer some of the questions that might pop up too.

Very nice, both of you. They look very much like stock fenders.

What about a widened VW Beetle fender. They have the same basic design flow and shape as a Willeys front fender and they are cheap as hell. I saw those on an old Dodge pickup and they looked dam good. He had basically just used the fender as a "face" and made them about 10" wider.

    OK. let the flaming begin!

By all means please post more of this truck. I like to see the rolling frame if possible. Any close ups of the rear fenders too.

A little off topic here, but I just ran into a friend of mine lastnight that has a 39. I asked if he still had it hanging from the rafters and he said sure enough. He bought this thing in 66 when he got out of the service and took it apart, someone took the front clip from his buddies shop so it became sidelined ever since.
He jokingly stated that he's had it hanging longer than it was in service when he bought it. They are still out there and no he won't part with it.
