This '49 got many treatments, built to be a driver, the urge to make a 'hot wheels car' was kept at a minimum. I tried to keep close to an awsome rendering of the car done by talented artist (sorry dont have it attached). Big 'C' notch on the rear rails with a paralell 4 bar and bags at all corners. A new floor and a drop in mustang fuel tank finished it off. Set up to be 4" at ride hight, with skirts on she'll skate down the road like shes on ice. The ability to lay -1" makes this '49 a happy kid. Yep, rails on the dirt and wheels on 1" blocks. The lid was whacked 3" in the front, and 4" out back. I made new inner fenders and added stainless trim to break it up. I bent up a new radiator suport to hold the front end together keeping it with the flow of Henry's factory sheetmetal. Usually four doors = parts car, instead the rears will learn how to live life as suicide doors. 'B' pillar goes bye bye, and the door tops become part of the roof. This little shoebox is quietly waiting for her debut, and proving her grace and streetability. Would love to see other shoebox Fords, and hear what y'all think about the mods on this baby sled.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. Hard-topping a 4 door seems to be the best approach.

Looks great. I like that amount of chop on a car that will be on the ground. You have done a ton of work and it shows.

Man that's some amazing work! Totally refreshing Kustom. I have actually never seen a suicide door set up with no post, it looks great!! Your floor and engine bay are so beautiful and very well thought out. GREAT WORK! Keep posting , i love your thread!! Im surprised that there is only 1 page of comments on this, but you'll see 18 pages on some of the dumbest topics....Interesting!
