This statement reminds me of a story, last summer, my brother and I went to a one-day show in Ukiah, Ca. Since he's a parapalegic, I went over to help him wipe his car down from the drive. I was kneeling down, trying to get the last of the deceased bugs off the grille, when a guy walked up and started talking about his '32 sedan. He told us that it's not a hot rod, like yours, and it's unrestored, but it runs and he's often wnated to bring it down here, blah, blah. Then he launched into a speech on Model B's vs Model 18's, and all the details that seprate the two. Then he asked if we knew whether my brother's car came with a 4 cyl or a V8 originally. Now mind you, the red sedan in my avatar is the one in question, and I know the pic is small, but Ray Charles can see it's a Model A and not a Duece! This walking encyclopedia "schooled" us for 30 minutes on 1932 triva and had no idea the car he was in front of was a '30-'31 sedan! Maybe he thought it was an "early '32"
I just spit cereal all over my computer screen after reading this one. That's funny. It takes deuce or two.
No one has mentioned the "devil" yet? Deuce is 2, II, and the devil to me. Surprisingly, never ever heard anyone use it as slang taking a shit. Sheltered life? Gary
Isn't the Double Deuce the name of the dance club in "Road House"?? Maybe the owner was married to a fat chick? or like using both hands to flip people off? or spent a lot of time on the shitter? or had two 1932 Fords? or maybe none of the above? And if you put a 31 body on a 32 frame - you probably have an "Acey-Deucey". dj
Can't believe how this thread went SOUTH so FAST, & so many can't even spell "DEUCE"!!!!!!!!!!!!-----------Don
I don't understand Deuce Daddy Don, Did you forget where you are? This thread Was doomed from the start. Doose
what about................. a deuce ana quata ...........that'd be a buick electra 225 & also a deuce five.......... that'd be a .25 cal gun this thread is pretty funny
also... 425 buick deuce and a quarter 6ply 2.5 ton = deuce and a half don't take every definition as legit. everything means something different to some people and if you've been on the internet much you'll realize some apparently normal looking people eat poop and like it. 2 girls and a cup... peanut butter jelly time... why ask why, just stay the f*&k away from them wierdo's.
A kid came in the shop i work at and wanted to know if we could mount his "deucie-deucie's" ....referring to 22" wheels he had.... Got a big kick out of that! Umm...Deuce...32 Ford as was mentioned..
Not to mention the more popular Roadster Version. Which was the ideal car to get cheap, if buying from a scrap yard, this was the body style that had less weight. If on the frame it could easily be adapted to a Flathead V8 that was souped up, and bolted right in. Easily done even if it were a Model B with the 4 banger.
But to get to your question, only '32 Fords are considered "Deuces". No other make. Most likely because the other makes weren't readily available and were all set up with goofy suspensions and inline motors. The Fords were popular because Old Man Henry was cheap, and many many parts interchange through out the run of his lil V8. Suspension was simple, and a whole aftermarket parts supply started up around the Ford, starting in 1932. (Well before that, with the 4 bangers and the dawn of the auto, but for the sake of me rambling, the parts we all know and love and the names we have today Edlebrock, Edmunds, Evans etc. pretty much started with the Flathead Ford V8 and became what they are today)
Obviously you don't know about the very early '32 sedan that used a '31 body and a '32 grille. Came out at the very first of the model year. You need to study up!!
I always thought it was pronounced "zoose". Then again, I'm from Mississippi so what the hell do I know?
