    Hey all,
I have been looking for a hot rod place to hang out, to much BS on some other boards so someone suggested that I come over here.
I need to get some inspiration to get my 35 chevy master project back on track, more bout that later.

    A little about me:
I am from Detroit, and I am a designer at Chrysler. (not the engineering designer but the sketching designer) and I also have a small custom gauge business. If you have any questions regarding either, I would be happy to help with advice or troubleshooting gauges and electronic equipment.

As far as cars go, most will laugh at at least one, but who cares, I built the cars for me, not anyone else. (more people need to respect that creedo) I believe that a hot rodder is a person who puts together a car on their own, being smart about what work is done for them. I am not an expert at everything, so I have to farm some things out (paint, engine building, etc). It just make sense dollar wise to do it that way. What I also believe in is making the car your own correctly. Do what you want to do, but make sure you have a theme or a direction, don't just slap some stuff on there to make it work. Now, to my cars...

The most complete is a 72 Porsche 914 with a Chevy 302 (yes, its a DZ) The car goes like hell and was best dare to be different last year in Hot rod magazine. I always dreamed of having my car in Hot Rod as a kid, I just didn't think it would be that one.

The second car uis a 35 Chevy Master 4-door. It going to be a pretty cool car. I was moving along pretty well until our 2nd son was born last year, but my oldest (3 years) has really been bugging me to get it on the road, so i told him we would be driving it by July. So, I need a ki8ck in the **** to get going on it again. as of now, I have the Chevy 305 (formerly in the 914) , the farme is cleaned up, a Heights MII front suspension and a f8.8 with discs in the rear. The brakes are done, and radiator is in. Really, to drive it, all i have left is to fix the wood in the doors, (I will probably use steel), install a driveshaft, wire it up and a few other things, but I really just want to get it drivable, we will worry about cosmetics later.

That is enough typing, here are some pics...

Welcome to the HAMB! That Porshe, while not really HAMB-friendly, is very cool!
Your '35 looks to be in excellent shape. Have fun with the build! I had a '35 Master 2-door sedan when I was 14, gave up on it because of the wood. I wish I still had it.
I do hope you find some nicer wheels for the '35 though, those are too "street rod" for this forum.

  3. Been doing one of those Apple Box'es my self. It's a 34 Standard. I took all the wood out and replaced with steel and did a nice Ch***is for it also. Like you On and Off for a few years.
    Good luck. The Wizzard

    Thanks for the welcome,
For the questions, the Porsche has a modified 901 (porsche) with taller gears. You actually take some of the gears and "flip" them to get the right ratios.
The Chevy is going to be a cool project. its going to look very stock inside and out, as for the wheels, thats what I want to do, and they were cheaper than getting the originals to work, so thats what its going to be for now.

The interior is going to look completely stock and the only mod on the exterior will be a raised belt. I can't chop it because the windshiuels is only about 5 inches high, besides the bodyside needs some more meat.
