I received a call out of the blue asking if I would consider going to a project in Las Vegas. Nothing in concrete yet, but you don't just get a call if you aren't on a short list. Anyway, I have to do some negotiations and some serious investigating, etc. Where are the good vs. bad places to live? Schools? I might have to get used to locking the house now...
the hot rod scene is small for how large the town is. There is a SoCal rod shop opening shortly, we'll keep our fingers crossed that it creates some more demand for fabricators. The cost of housing was very reasonable until two years ago, now everyone moving out of socal is comming in with big dollers to spend and prices have doubled.
Housing prices have gone thru the friggin roof! And property taxes, electric rates and water rates are following them. Not much in the way of traditional rod scene unless you count Viva once a year and thats a bit goofy. Ive been here for 52 years so if ya have some particular questions, shoot me a pm.
Every day I regret the day I decided to leave the Pacific NW.. Of course, I have family there too...grew up there. I miss the dry air,,sturgeon fishin, clean water, warm springs and falls...and great people... If I wasn't married, I'd be back in The Dalles in a heartbeat....
