Good God, that car was built years ago, I remember seeing it at Alexander Palace in '79. Thanks for reminding me of the rapid p***age of it.
Was called Moulin Rouge....Built back in the '70s....I believe its now gone to the great junkyard in the sky.... HAve a look here for some more '70 stuff http://www.uk-hotrods.co.uk/old%20photos/page%2025/page%2025.htm Cheers, Gerry Scotland

I bought a small book at a used book store with al these 70s brit cars. I got one picture posted of a Rolls with a V12 merlin engine but this dam picture gave me fits getting it sized. I really don't mess with the clunky photoshop on my Lexmark enough to be familiar with it but I will try to put up some more of the period British cars. Some are downright awful tho.
Nads...I was at that show...the good old Custom Car shows...not sure if this is the same hillman that was talked about on the UK forum, but if it is it was originally gonna be loosely based on the original Lil Coffin monkey
Moulin Rouge....ahhhh....those were the days..... I remember seeing 'Andromeda' at the same show...and Speed Freak....And Disco Trucker...hell, yup, I'm old too! But not as old as 32 Limey....
[ QUOTE ] But not as old as 32 Limey.... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Kev is an old git! (that ought to pull him out of hiding - haven't seen him on here for a bit)
[ QUOTE ] Sure did......but who is this guy [/ QUOTE ] Pretty funny Kev, I see Tracey's let you loose with the crayons again.....but your still OLDER!! Actually, that makes me look like a 70's **** Star!! Coming to Billetproof Kev? Oh no, I forgot....you can't... Dave
hahaha you'll have to do billetproof without me i'm afraid, i have something far more important to do......i can't think of it right now.....but....
Anyone remember Paul Wayling's wicked Plymouth? That thing was friggin' scary. But not as scary as Mumford's murals, **** there were murals on top of murals back then. The tasty cars were outnumbered by the **** fuglies 20 to 1, but it was still a great time to have been around in, I'm so happy I got to experience it.
Mumford was the man. I remember he did a how to in one of the mags years ago ... I was really proud of the ***y lady I airbrushed on the bonnet of my mini!! I think it was on one of the cars LP was it candy O?
there was a 33 plymouth just like it at the nats this year....always looked like someone had stood on it and snapped it in half.....fad t`s were the rage......the revenge `c cab, andromeda and nick butlers V12....a fantastic little blue austin ruby that if i remember right made the cover of Street rodder back in 78/79....**** i feel old all of a sudden monkey
[ QUOTE ] nick butlers V12 monkey [/ QUOTE ] That wasn't the red T bucket was it? Theres a red one with a Jag V12 (who built it I can't remember) in the Haynes museum in their 'Red' room.. stopped off there a few years back. Ahhh..those were the days, Chelsea Cruise & monster burnouts in the petrol station near the roundabout, while the crowd held the police back....
Crikey, all the Yanks reading this thread must be ******* themselves laughing Didn't Mumford appear on The Generation Game with B-B-Brucie once......
That's it 32Limey, I bet that was the only hot rod in the UK running Rader wheels. Did I tell you my next door neighbor bought the T-bucket Shotgun in '78 at the Norbreck Castle Show in Blackpool? When he brought it home I was jealous as hell. He came around the corner blasting his LaCucaracha air horn. He took me for a ride in it, it was my first ride in a real hot rod. I was changed forever. BTW, the dude's called Keith McCormick and he runs a major collector car auction in California now. He made it big. That ****ing hurricane two weeks ago destroyed a bunch of my beloved English hot rod mags, I'm still bumming about that, they can never be replaced.
Any of you Brits remember Dave Bean's fad T, well that was my wedding car years ago on that miserable ****ing mistake of a day.
[ QUOTE ] That ****ing hurricane two weeks ago destroyed a bunch of my beloved English hot rod mags, [/ QUOTE ] And you got another one bearing down on you guys - time to tape the windows again!
I think the Ts of the 70s were the guys that could afford cars AND good drugs. And thank God for those drugs because they mostly blanked out my memory of that decade. EXAMPLE
Thats the one....Gary Belcher's V12 T. I also remember the XJ-S that was built for 100+ International Wheels. They ripped out the V12 & replaced it with a 427 Chevy! I've got a picture of it somewhere doing a burnout outside the shop I used to work at (Don't laugh...Ripspeed).....looked odd, front & back wheels not moving, and the middle set smoking like a demon
Is Gary Belcher anything to do with Belcher's - the vintage engine builder here in the UK? www.brmmbrmm.com/belcher
[ QUOTE ] Is Gary Belcher anything to do with Belcher's - the vintage engine builder here in the UK? www.brmmbrmm.com/belcher [/ QUOTE ] Hmmmmm....dunno, but I would hazard a guess that as they do A, B & T stuff....there's a VERY good chance that he is!!
