Just about anyone who works on cars has a good tool set or at least they should. But if all you could carry in your car was just ONE tool, what would it be? I've got a set of Vise Grips (not the new Chinese ones) in the trunk of my daily and it's saved my **** not only in this car but others. Gotta have it.
I dont know if it is cheating, but I keep a leatherman in every car I own and thay pay for themselfs.
one chinese socket set and a hammer , most of the time i cant fix it so i just beat the livin **** out if it! i carry a quarter on my shovelhead purely for starting purposes..
My favorite tool is my Dad. Before you read something into that, lemme explain: that man never ceases to amaze me how quickly he can solve mechanical issues with tape, a hammer and/or vise grips. His work may not be the most finely finished, but if my car won't run and I'm in the middle of nowhere, I hope that man's within earshot.
Check this out; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291489 I fell it's very important to have what you need to fix your car on your own for safety reasons. ******Knuckles
Water jug behind the seat. Let me explain, I drive a Model A with a mostly-stock engine. Nuff said. Luke
A guy on the tbucket forums posted it and I took it, but I had seen it before and had lost it. It's one of several versions of a pinup done on WWII bombers. Miss Behavin' was the name of my T Bucket before her wreck and Miss Fortune will be her name after the rebuild. Do I get a cookie?
Smooth rock, it is used to coax the stupid electric fuel pump into working. A hammer will not fit in there! When I get that resolved, I have a big paper clip stuck to the inside of the cab, good for replacing those pesky fuses when the fuel pump takes it out!
i carry a set of craftsman tools, channle locks, duck t****, black tape, and a leatherman, and a good hotrod magizine because if I cant fix it might as well read about someone who can.
