    I just picked this up from a friend of mine;

    He said it was a '57 J-2 Olds. It did have the tri-power and I could still get it from one of his friends. He bolted up a 4-barrel intake and carb.

    Is there a way I could identify this?

    Thanks for the help guys.

    Hello, 57 or 58 Olds 371 cu.in. Looks like a 57 because 58 had a extra "gusset" on the power steering pump bracket. This engine was removed from a air cond. car. That`s why the 6 blade fan (normally 4 non-air cond.) Hope this helps, Eric

    The "8" on the one picture of the head, indicates a 1955, so unless the heads have been changed somewhere in its life it would be a 324.
