I need a flat gl*** windshield made at a gl*** shop. I want to find some cheap material from Home Depot that I can make a pattern and bring it the gl*** shop. Something about 1/4 "

    What do you use?

    Thanks.

plexigl*** or masonite if you are buying
heavy cardboard if you want free

  3. I use Matte board from the frame shop, pattern need not be 1/4"

I've been doing auto gl*** for 24 years and I prefer to use cardboard from the sleeves that tempered gl*** (door windows, backgl***es, quarter windows) come in. Go visit your local gl*** shop and ask them for a sleeve. They'd be happy to get rid of 'em, especially if they were going to get your business out of it.

  6. I always used 1/4" plywood.

I use 1/4 masonite so after I cut it I can fine tune the pattern with some sandpaper easily if nessesary.
