That goes from "What tha" to damned slick in just a flash. Looks great. And you can hear the rattle in back sheds world wide as guys are out digging for that long forgotten piece that they always thought could be used for something that it wasn't but were afraid to try it.

I'm really impressed with how that turned out! It definitely took a unique mind to bring that together, well done...

I like unique, it sounds a bit more pleasant than "insane".

  11. Hats off to you my friend. 65,000 HAMB-ers, 7 decades of building hot rods and you come up with a new idea. You are the man.

One of the sweetest ideas I have seen in a long time, and it looks good too!!! Show some final shots when you wrap this one up.

Very cool, but it really needs the original idea of the power port behind a fill cap.

Fill cap is the cherry on top.

Countdown to a bucket with a finned aluminum VC dash in 5......4.......3......

    Here's an idea...
A couple hemi valve covers, and a dual snorkle air cleaner all welded together to form a dashboard.

The snorkels on the air cleaner could be used for defroster vents.

Cut holes for guages into the air cleaner lid... And put spark plug wires into the holes on the VC's, tucked up into dummy holes just under the snorkels....

It would look good in a full blown fat fendered custom.

Now that is a helluva compliment!

I'm still on the fence and I may go that way at some point - however I did use the window crank trim from the same Buick to go around the lighter if that is any consolation :)

    Nice

  20. Now that was a great idea. Nice job!

  21. At first look, I thought that was the biggest piece of **** in the world. But I must say that that is pretty cool! who would have thought? Once the guages went in, that did it for me.

That's slick. Always cool to be unique, and recycle at the same time!

Maybe the old dash would also work as a nice valvecover for your buick. Few people would have a valvecover with a glove compartment.

looks great!..I had been looking at a Packard Flathead straight eight head thinking of the same application..it has "Thunderbolt" onnit and I was thinking toggle switches in the sparkplug holes, of course you would have to mill it thin so it wasn't so heavy..ehhh you got the more workable idea as the head would be too hard to put a guage in..great project man, looks good...
