DeSoto Hemi rockers/shafts qun...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rat bastad, Feb 20, 2009.

  1. Any of the Hemi guys on the HAMB know if 426 Hemi rockers/shafts will fit a tall deck Desoto Hemi?

What is the OD of the shafts/ID of the rockers on each engine and do the shaft standes interchange?

Do any of the Chrysler HEmi shafts/rockers/stands interchange with a tall deck DeSoto?

    Thanx guys...

I don't have any shaft specs handy, but I do know that 426 Hemis have unique shafts. The Chrysler rocker shafts only interchange a**** Chryslers, DeSotos a**** DeSotos, and Dodges a**** Dodges - it doesn't matter if you swap between deck heights.

  3. I seem to remember that Chrysler, Dodge and Desoto early Hemis all have 7/8" OD shafts, can anyone confirm?

This would mean that the rockers of all these engines would fit the shafts - however the rocker arm lengths could be different??

There are oil holes in the shafts also, so that would need to line up too. I can measure my shaft when I get home. :)
