I'm just trying to figure out what the biggest cheater I can get is...I've seen lots of 10's and 12's but just wondering if you can go wider...Or what is the widest DOT approved slick I can get...that still looks "nostalgic" not like a M/T Sportsmen or somethin'

what is it going on. If you want it to look nostalgic, then keep it narrower then the 12's. granted I did not live in the period of time but from mags I have seen, I do not remember seeing to many cars with "pro-street" width tires on them. if its on a dragster that is a different thing and I would think a 12" would fit the look

Well it's going on a '23 T-Bucket, with a catch...I'm going to set my frame up so the rear suspension is similar to a soft tail motorcycle, and run a single slick in back...I wanted to make it look nostalgic to a point though...I know 3 wheeled T-Buckets aren't trad....but I figure I can pull it off. I was thinking the wider the tire the better the rear would look, not super wide...but I thought some where I saw a 15" Cheater...but I can't find a damn thing.

10.00-15's are the widest that I know of.

Do you have any build or concept pictures of something like this? How are you getting power to the rear "wheel"? For some reason I can't get this Bomag roller picture out of my head......

I'd run it to a diff with the internals welded, and the run short axle shafts to the hubs and then run sprockets from there to the the rear tire.

No reason to weld the internals, if you're running axle shafts out of both sides of the diff to a "live" rear axle. Welding will just invite failure.

Well they make nifty little right angle drive gear boxs that you can hook up to the back of your trans...It's got a sprocket on it...run a chain from the sprocket to the rear wheel with a gear on it...Ta Da! Chain Drive! Pretty simple, just gotta figure ratios for the gear box, sprocket and gear.

I've got some ideas drawn out...just trying to figure out how to lay out the frame...and then figure how much power a chain and a right angle drive box can take...

engine choices are 218 Chrysler Six, 303 Rocket and a 394
