very rad nads. but my wife was wondering if you were the oompa lumpas in the tim berton willy wonka movie
that ruled nads,,,,, didnt know you played stand up b***,,,i always thought you played the triangle... is there an album available??
Yup, sure is, put in Big Jef Special on myspace. We played a Sun Records tribute last night at The Hard Rock and Marshall Lyttle from Bill Haley and the Comets was the guest of honor, he played my beat up b*** and sang Rock Around The Clock, it was so rad, he liked the high action on it and he also signed it.. The fella's 75 years old and still rocks out. Glad you folks dig the vid, I hope it doesn't seem like I'm spamming.
Nice, I met Marshall a few years ago back home, ad saw the Comets play VLV 2 years ago...Awesome guys... Congrats again on the video man
Yup Marshall rules, saw The Comets in the mid 90s at the old Denver Weekender, pre-VLV days. These old dudes came walking in and I immediately knew it was The Comets, they asked where the stage was, and I said, "you guys must be The Comets!!!!!" I got to watch them rehe****, the singer was English and the drummer was ancient but he totally rocked out. During their show I was crying because of the joy they felt at playing, full on tears. Marshall had his doghouse behind his back, up on his feet, underneath him, it was truly an incredible gig. Old dudes doing what they love. PS, check out The Jodimars, now that's Rock N Roll.
That mexican on stand up had some cool sungl***es on!.. as if you weren't already, you are now Offically the Coolest guy i've ever met Nads. Congrats on the video, it really does look great. Anthony
Thanks, but it's not really 'my' band, it is Jef the singer's, he writes the songs and we play 'em, our guitarist is smoking good, Brian's his name and ditto our drummer, Alan, he's not in the vid he had family obligations. We've been together, on and off, for eleven or twelve years, we have a long and complicated history that would take thirty more songs to reveal.
well i ment as a whole!! sorry things dont come accross as they are ment to sound when they are typed!!!
Yeah, you can find us on myspace and order the CD through Target. We're working on the new one right now. The song is somewhat a true story, most songs on the CD are. I built my Chevy in 1990 right after me and the ex started hitting the skids, it kept me sane, I worked on her all through the night, 100% alone, no friends, no radio, nobody but me in a rented garage with a stick welder, hacksaw, grinder, tin snips and a jigsaw. I took long road trips in her but I never drove her between Nashville and Memphis, but I did go through other parts of Tennessee. Funny thing is on our very first gig my ex showed up and hooked up with Jef right then and there, they were married soon after for a very short time, so yeah, here we are a country band living a country song. Jef went thru alcohl hell, our drummer nearly died in motorcycle wreck and we're old as ****. We've been thru hell but somehow we're still together, the band I mean.......oh yeah, me and Choptop Chevy too, I'll probably never sell her, how could I?
