I like many of the old show rods.....but the Ice Truck was different, it was just SO *****in'! Almost as wide as it is long, big bad Buick engine, way wiiiide chrome plated wires on Indy car tires....what this show car had that many did not was the pure exaggerated styling that the concept art had (which, of course, was AWESOME Ed Newton work). A very rare case of the actual car coming to life that is every bit as outrageous as the illustration!
Dave did a fantastic job (as usual) bringing this ****er back to it's former life.

  9. I love the Ice Truck and the location of the photo shoot. Shooting at the Packard plant in the daytime, is like doing a photo shoot in a dark alley in the bad part of town in any other city.

Turns out we're both right. Nobody likes me $8 worth, but it turns out my buddy chopper99 here on the HAMB like's me $5 worth. He got an offer to sign up a friend for $5, so I just got a late Christmas present! Mystery solved. Thanks Jim.

  12. I can't wait to see it in person. It looks pretty good in print, but I wanna see it up close. I've been hearing about it ever since Fritz went out and painted it way back when. Even though it's not a veiling job, like the Druid Princess was... Or as wild as some of those Indian Larry tins I've seen Fritz do, it looks F.A.B. Nicely put together Dave. Congrats!

Can someone help me get in touch with Dave Shuten? I may have found an F-4 map light.

I talked to him today and it seems someone has already found him one. Says he really appreciates it. Guess he's got more people looking out for him than he realizes! Ha! Ha!

That's cool then. I have lots of warbird contacts so I thought I'd try to help.
