Well, it seems that the HOTRODARAMA is dead. I think that an AUGUST event in the Tacoma Area would be well attended. Where to be is the question. Casino/Mall/Restaurant/Bar/The Swiss? Industrial-Port Of Tacoma(I might know a place, room for hundreds of cars, 5 minutes from I-5) I guess for legal purposes It would be renamed to 'PRE 64 BRING YOUR DAMN CAR"
I wouldn't presume the Hotrodarama is dead. It's just not this year. The M.M. own the name and I doubt it's gone for good. There's another guy here on the Hamb with an event the following weekend in South Tacoma which seems to have interest, Alley Rally. Look for it, could be good....

Who cares if those boys "own the name". Do they own the location? They can take their name and esoteric yuppy larvae mentality and show off somewhere else. Remember "its about the steel" BS I talked to the Swiss this week and they are not to happy with M.M. They lost alotta lotta income when the plug got pulled.

How many people have made plans that now are blown to hell? Here's one small example. I have fixed it. So I will use it. My 14 yo son was blown away last year at hotrotorama. HE WORKED ,SAVED MONEY AND BOUGHT A 23 STEEL T BUCKET BODY OFF CRAIGS LIST. his idea! He thought it would be bitchin to bring his own car next year(09) he didn't see any other kids his age and thought it would be cool. so far he's on track. he's takin drivers end to get his permit. He's pounded out his dents and started welding it up. I,m donating the drive train. OOPS scratch that plan.
Hey things change, you'll have to make new plans. I was bummed out about hotrodarama aswell, It was always the highlight of the year. Every August a bunch of us would always make the 1000 mile drive down to washington with more people comming along every year. Getting mad isnt going to make hotrodarama come back. Were considering Billetproof instead, or maybe the Rose City Roundup. Bonneville is always an option too.

What is it with people these days, with this false sense of entitlement. As if someone owes you a car show because the Mischief Makers decided to hold off a year. Nice blend of Rock a Billy /kustom Culture/Heavy steel and lots of RUST. dont believe it could be beat. way to go M.M. Now lets take a show like this based on people gettin down and dirty bangin steel, grass roots car building and sharing it with 4-5 hundred others. Promoted as a no trailor queen no trophy whores paint opptional event and take it inside on an invitation only format based on 30-40 cars(Top Show Cars) pay at the door and go look at the cars event.you know the kind. I went to one of those ONCE. I can hopnestly say Kick Ass it was not!Talk about 180 out. M.M can do what they feel. Its there trip. more power to them . i hope it works and they make/share good money back to the community. \Nuff Said

Rally in the Alley, Billetproof, Swindler's poker run etc....still good stuff goin' on. Let's be thankful we can still buy gas and drive our cars, 'cause that's what it's really all about. Oh, bye the bye....Snohomish Rod Angels are planning an event similiar to the Swindler's; just further south. King and Snohomish counties. Nothing firm yet.

I think my opinion on the subject is we have the MM to thank for the last couple years, and they put on a really great show, if Ironbuyer says they are taking a year off and planning something big for next year, well then we gotta belive him. They did put togather the best show in the NW and if they think they can one up it, well then awesome Ill have something ready by then, but to the people that have stuff already, WHO CARES! it's not like you can only own a car for a year!
It was the 1st year and the weather was iffy, but was a good time. Ya shoulda seen the "pinup" contest! Coupedeville65 puts the show on.....dyno challenge, burnout contest, dragsters being lit off....good stuff.
i'm with FASTRNU on this one. I DEMAND THAT THE MISCHIEF MAKERS PUT ON HOTRODARAMA THIS YEAR!!!!!! to make sure this happens, i will hold my breath and jump up and down until they say yes. i may even cry to anyone that will listen how UNFAIR it is to ME! ME ME ME! they OWE me a show. i mean come on, they only gave me 6 months notice. how the fuck am i supposed to figure out what do do on that weekend in such a short amount of time? i could give a fuck if the M.M. have lives, and god forbid integrity. i want what is MINE!
