I'm trying to find a good quality shot of this Oilzum logo, below.
This is from 1957 or 1958
I need to reproduce this and I want to get it correct.
My guess is that it was a decal given away by the oil company?
So if anyone happens to have one or know the dimensions of one that would help alot also.

The other 2 decals are needed also but not as important.
The upper one is Jahn's pistons but I am not sure what the lower round one would be? Any guesses?

Sorry for the size of the picture, its the best I can do.

    Thanks alot for any help
    Zach

Did a search on Google and saw some on evil-Bay. Also, several other locations. Might get some ideas on size. Give it a shot.

Oilzum decals were common place on eastern Modifieds, you should have no problem locating some.

Oilzum was still in business as recently as 20 years ago and might be to this day. Try Bailey Bros. auto parts in Barre, Vermont. They were a retail and wholesale outlet in the 80s. Sold the stuff by the pallet load, bar and chain oil, motor oil, every knd of lubricant you can imagine. I changed oil to the Oilzum brand many times back in the late 70s, early 80s.

I love that logo and wouldn't mind finding some decals or better yet, patches. There is an antique store I frequent that has some old cans with that logo. If memory serves it is just a head shot of a dude wearing an old cap and what looks like a bandit mask over his eyes. Is this ringin' any bells?
If you can't find somethin' right away, I'll see if I can track down those cans. They wanted an arm and a leg for them (otherwise, I'd probably have already added them to my growing pile of useless automobilia) but I could take my camera and recreate the logo in Illustrator.

    google is a wonderful thing.

It's even high enough quality that you vectorize it piece of cake.

    thanks gigantor!!
that Jahns one is a big help!

i figured out the oilzum as you were posting i guess!.... i knew the head was there it was
just a matter of trying to figure out the writing and the colors
my dad looked at the actual photograph with a magnifying gl*** and we figured out the writing "choice of champions"
then I found a few cans laying around here tonight so I'm all set now to have the correct colors and whatnot
unless someone actually has some of these decals? or dimensions of the actual decals?

thanks everyone for all the help

I don't have any more of the Potvin water decals. I do have several of the Jahn's Racing Pistons. The Oilzum, for all the different ones I have, I don't have the one you are looking for. I do have a sales brochure that has the same drop shadow & rectangle across the bottom but there is no lettering in the box.
