A couple weeks ago I accidentally exposed someone who was masterminding a fishy deal - it happened on another forum, but the guy posts on here and a hundred other forums as well. In retaliation for exposing his bad temper and warning my friends (I don't want my friends to get burned by him), questionable business practices, and the wake of angry people he leaves behind him - I got a "prank" played on me.

The police contacted me about the fake ads on the 14th before I even knew about it. I have setup a web page dedicated to this sort of thing, starting with my story and as of this morning -two more similar stories were added to the page. I had no idea that this sort of thing was happening -all over the country apparently.

The person that did this to me has some explaining I think, as the FBI and several other law enforcement agencies are involved - with the hard evidence that he did it already in hand.

I strongly suggest that you all stick to "cash and carry" when dealing with people you meet on the internet - for your own protection. If the seller is evasive, if the deal sounds fishy, if they try to guilt you into taking a check, or too good to be true - it probably is. Watch your backs folks, you could be dealing with the same vindictive psycho I just crossed paths with.

I have also refrained from posting his name on here in an effort to prevent the BS he posted on the other forum from re-appearing here. If necessary I will post his name and all the information I have on him. It all depends on him - hopefully he will behave himself and not make the situation any worse. He's in enough hot water already.

Here's the link to the story:

Check back from time to time, as I will be updating the page as required.

Interesting story. I hope Law Enforcement follows through well. I didn't understand from your post if this was in Houston, or maybe in Massachusetts.

Interesting. Thanks for posting, but there really is no way to protect yourself from something like this other than going over and***XXX the guy.

We're in Massachusetts. He's REALLY lucky my wife was home, someone tipped my local police dept, and no one took anything. He'd definitely be behind bars today if anything went missing here.

I guess signing me up for free records or magazines subscriptions - or ordering a dozen pizzas delivered to my house is blaise in the 21st century.

Thanks for posting. We all need to use a little discretion when making deals via the internet.

    *Caution,... mini-rant*

It use to be that people tried to raise there children to grow up and become ADULTS, productive members of the society, to put away childish things and attitudes and become upstanding citizens that took personal responsibility, so they were fit to raise the next generation of ADULTS. (someone to be proud of)

Anymore I keep seeing a generation not of Men and Women of integrity, but grown up children, that think playing silly little games is not only funny,... but totally justified,...
A generation that believes, anything is acceptable as long as you can get away with it, And I am getting sick and tired of seeing it,...

Our kids and grandkids watch and observe us ( and the so-called adults) from the time they are small all throughout there life's, and when we brush off the things we "get away with", we teach them by example, and it will magnify itself as being acceptable from generation to generation,..... we see it everyday from children to adolescents to co-workers to politicians to CEO's to celebrities to every aspect of society.

We are no longer a society of integrity, and this bothers me greatly,... there has always been a element of immature or backward people in all generations,... but it was never something to strive for in past generations,.... or accepted like it is now.

Maybe I am just getting old, maybe this post should be removed (maybe it's the cold medicine I'm taking kicking in). Either way, this world is not the same world in which I grew up in, where taking personal responsibility and acting mature was a right of passage into becoming a ADULT,.... someone my folks could be proud of.

So it comes to this,.... Any of you scam or prank artists out there,.... Grow up will you!,..... be a good example to future generations,...

    ( I guess I better take a nap now )

Gen3 your story is interesting. You say beware of pranks but dont mention the party doing it. I find that peculiar. If the guy is a crook, why not say it? Without any names or situations, what good is your warning???? And if the guy is posting on other boards, it must be common knowledge that he is doing it elsewhere. But you dont mention name, other boards, parts/services, websites, cities, law enforcement agencies - nothing.

    its a useless post

I don't think it is a useless post. Why does he need to post the guy's name? So he can get harassed even more? To me he is just doing a little cya and letting us all do the same. If you want to know the name of the person, he might give it to you in a pm, but he doesn't need to tell everyone if he doesn't want to.
